On the right is Bossy’s mother, who is nicknamed Dondi. She is standing in front of her new grammar school in Casper Wyoming, and she has her arm around little Gail who belongs to Bud and Mickey.
Dondi has been very content since her move out west—it doesn’t hurt that her family is living with Bud and Mickey and therefore she can giggle the day away with younger Gail. They are play sisters.
And it doesn’t hurt that her parents seem happy and the adventures are all different from her Camden New Jersey adventures, which usually involved her silly red-headed Aunt Jenny, maybe some hair curlers, a pair of roller skates, and a trip to the corner grocer.
But suddenly Dondi is thrust into a classroom with twenty unknown faces and they’re staring and it is maybe beginning to hurt.
