This. It’s a painting of the Bossy family bear, Poohie. Here it found a permanent home in the back of the family dining room on a bookcase, hold the books:
It was done by the talented Jennifer, who is doing a whole series of toy portraits. She totally managed to capture the kissed-flat spirit of Poohie, and that special all-knowing glimmer in his eye. You don’t want to miss her website, which is full of charming likenesses — and maybe if you’re lucky and act quick, she will be able to create one of these custom keepsakes for one of your loved ones this holiday season.
You can read about what Poohie did this summer here.
And you can learn more about Poohie’s sage wisdom here.

December 9, 2010 at 11:51 amI have a bookcase (hold the books) very similar to that one! Well similar in that it hold pictures and trinkets and schtuff rather than books. Not similar in that mine is like an IKEA KNOCK OFF rather than a cute thang…I digress.

This is such a great idea, and such a beautiful result. Poohie looks gorgeous. I wonder if I can get my son to bring home Mendel, his monkey-from-birth, over winter break. Then I could take some group pictures with his sister’s patched and overly loved kittens, Tikvah and Daniel. Then I could commission a painting. How cool. I think it would be a great gift for my husband. Thanks for sharing, p.j.
