I did this a few years ago with nephew, cousin, and now-niece. In the winter! Fun, and the Brooklyn Historical Society at the other end of the bridge was beautiful and fascinating. (Grandma was born in Brownsville 117 years ago, and we found some old pictures of her ‘hood)
oh, oh, oh, I’ve done that! I took my son’s class to Model UN in NYC and we stayed at the hotel at the end of the bridge in Brooklyn. So, very, cool. We are on our way back from NC to MA. We drove through PA/NJ/NY and thought of you. Is that weird? You were in there somewhere, weren’t you?
I’ve lived in Staten Island or Manhattan practically my whole life and the first time I ever walked across it was for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk a couple of years ago. Amazing bridge. Amazing views. Great picture. Thanks for reminding me that I should walk it more often.
Bossy’s grandfather, when he was about 9 or 10, was one of the first persons to walk across the Delaware River Bridge(now the Ben Franklin bridge) from Camden N.J. to Philly. She’s got the ‘bridge walkin’ gene!
Did that a few times during the 16 years I lived in NYC. Best is to walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan at sunset. Unbelievable! Then keep walking to Chinatown or Little India for dinner. 🙂
