Check out Bossy’s daughter, Brigitta, and her talented von Trapp siblings perform Do Re Mi.
And no, Bossy didn’t take this video and, no, that isn’t Bossy laughing into the video microphone — just like it’s not Bossy coughing, and it’s not Bossy playing the flute or the fiddle, although she sure wishes she had done all of the above.
However, Bossy did paint the boulder! The boulder not in this scene.

May 27, 2009 at 11:45 amAwww, that was awesome!
Man, you guys some some real theater there. Is this at her school? With real sets? And real costumes? That fit? that match each other? And the talent!
David says
May 27, 2009 at 11:51 amPretty damn impressive production values. And I rarely had a proper orchestra for my community theater productions. Jealous. Looking forward to watching this again at home, where I can actually HEAR them sing it. Of course that didn’t stop me from singing along in my head while I watched it in silence.
“But it doesn’t mean anything!”
Auds at Barking Mad says
May 27, 2009 at 12:02 pmI knew better than to watch this with Imp on my lap. Have watched it no less than 22 times this morning. Did I mention that SoM is like her FAVOURITE MOVIE EVER? Oiy!
Bossy’s daughter makes for a beautiful and talented Brigitta!
And now, I have that song stuck in my head. Thanks for the earworm! *lol*

May 27, 2009 at 12:31 pmThere is a bright light that shines from Bossy’s Daughter.
Reeb says
May 27, 2009 at 12:38 pmThe silence is deafening here at the moment: the video seized up JUST as Maria was tapping each kid on the head for their “do!” “re!” “mi!” one-at-a-time moment. Stopped halfway through “re!” so I didn’t get to see little Miss Sunshine sparkle with her one syllable. So sweet the rest of it. Will try later.
Still impressed at live musicians. What’s this theater/group?
Reeb says
May 27, 2009 at 12:39 pmBut I did enjoy her sparkling before the missing “mi”!

May 27, 2009 at 1:14 pmShe will remember this for the rest of her life. Wonderful. Enjoy this week, Bossy family. : )
Caroline says
May 27, 2009 at 2:03 pmThat does it!!! I WANT TO MOVE TO BOSSYVILLE. And hang out and drink wine with Bossy and Amy and Martha, and jam with Mr. Bossy and Bossy’s brother, and make covered dishes for the block parties, and enjoy plays and musicals at the Bossyville Community Theatre.
Yes. I want to catch the next bus to Bossyville.

May 27, 2009 at 2:23 pmThat is so sweet! Your daughter is very talented, although we who read your blog are somewhat biased in our toward opinions of your family, home, etc.

May 27, 2009 at 2:40 pmCan I be jealous of bossy’s daughter at 41? You’re living my childhood fantasy, bossy’s daughter! Go get ’em! Break a leg and all that stuff! You’re a great Brigitta no matter how it’s spelled!
And Julie Andrews looks really different…
The Cheap Chick says
May 27, 2009 at 2:41 pm*Sniffle* So proud! She’s not even my child, nor have I ever met her, and yet. So PROUD!
Bobbie says
May 27, 2009 at 3:05 pmI actually started clapping with the crowd! Thank God my kids aren’t home.
Julie says
May 27, 2009 at 3:10 pmHow terrific! Both my kids have been in SoM and you know what I discovered? The so-called bland and sappy musical takes on some pretty big issues! Bravo and brava to Rodgers, Hammerstein, Bossy’s daughter, and my own two too!
Franca Bollo says
May 27, 2009 at 3:41 pmHoly crap. Excuse me but the whole production’s pretty impressive. I loved how Brigitta puts a guiding hand on the littlest girl’s back near the end. An subtle indication of Bossy’s daughter’s nature. Brava!

May 28, 2009 at 11:12 pmAudubon Ron did at least two theater performances each year all through high school and several shows in sort of semi-professional theater in New Orleans. Audubon Ron’s mom use to attend the performances and she would cackle mostly when the audience was silent. Ron’s friends would say, “Ron, your mom is out there.”

May 29, 2009 at 11:21 amThat was super! Thank you so much for sharing. My 12 yr old son recently tried out for “Gypsy” … then he found out it was about a stripper. He’s dying to get the part now!
