Welcome to Bossy’s Ear Worm, which features songs currently in Bossy’s headphones. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
Timbuk 3, Welcome to the Human Race.
Dear children, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and music was delivered via etched vinyl discs, this husband and wife team, Pat and Barbara MacDonald, wrote a few hits on a handful of records and even received a Grammy for Best New Artist.
This song was a sleeper from their 1988 record, Eden Alley. It’s got the whole syncopated cog-in-the-machine deal and high hat of the Police, with the chang-like Pretenders guitar parts. And lots of smart words.
Bossy loved this record, but mostly she couldn’t stop looking at the photos of the two of them and obsessing over their palpable cuteness, so right together.
