This (not) stray cat, Baby David. Yes Bossy is mentioning Favorite Thing and Cat in the same sentence. That’s because this cat is so scrappy and charming.
Of his many habits and traits that put a smile on the face, this one ranks right up there: When he sees you coming he steps in front of you, throws his body to the ground, and rolls around happily.
Bossy doesn’t speak cat, but she thinks it means, “I know you’re a dog person, so I’m going to act cute like this so you keep me around for a while.“
If he is doing that rolling around for you, that means YOU are one of HIS favorite things!
My Homer does that! He plops himself down on the ground in front of us, and you can almost hear him saying “Pet me, pet me.”
CatCat came to us by way of that rollover movement. She lived across the yard but soon came dragging her litter box behind her and next thing you know she’s sleeping on my upside hip several nights a week. A gorgeous long-haired calico, she’s the delight of our courtyard of twelve apartments and all the neighborhood cats love to eat her catnip and fall stoned under rosebushes for a long smiley nap in the shady spot.
be warned that the cute act that you mention above is actually a cats ploy to kill you. cats think it’s cute and really it is – but just you wait – one day they will plop down in front of you and trip you down a flight of stairs.
Who can resist the flop, the showing of the belly, the big anime eyes, and the coquettish “myew?” ?? Not I.
It can also be an invitation to play “Bite the Hand What Feeds Me,” a fun game, though a bit rough.
I heart Baby David.
I’m a dog person, too, but there is something about him that is adorable.
What is it about the upside of a hip that cats like? Mine sleeps there too! 🙂 Baby David is precious
He resembles Eva Longoria.
How did Baby David get his name?
Cat belly is one of MY favourite things.
Awww. Looks just like my boy Trouble, except that he’s gray. With gold eyes. Good tummy move.
Oh, and he’s dead. That’s the sad part, but, life. It happens. He was loved.
Come to think of it, maybe he doesn’t look that much like Trubs. Named Trouble, because, well…he was. A lot. {{{Thinking of ya, Tubby!}}}
This means he luffs you.
Mine do it too – it’s so cute and sweet!
I love Baby David pics & stories!
