Subways. Bossy grew up riding many subways a day, and what can she say? She feels comfortable hundreds of feet below ground mixing it up with a bunch of aloof strangers.
The first thing Bossy does when she visits a city is to master their public transportation system.
I must say that you do have your Master in that.
So…how was the public transportaition of horseback in Oklahoma? Did you master that?
I grew up in a midwestern town of 5,000 residents. I’ve since lived 30 miles from L.A. and now 30 miles from Chicago but never in a city. When we do visit a city like New York or Boston or Toronto it is quite an experience for me to ride the subway. Two weeks ago we took the T from Middleboro into Boston to see the Red Sox play the Yankees at Fenway…one of the major highlights of our six week northeast trip. It is a very brave and edgy thing to me though that I will never “master.”
BART is a great system that goes above ground, under ground, and under the SF Bay. An amazing system of routes and stations and tracks and trains of varying length. Love it.
