On the second day of Christmas, Bossy’s true love gave to her: A Tree-lighting Ceremony in her little town.
Every year the whole town gathers to sing Christmas carols while Bossy laments about her need to master nighttime photography:
Bossy is just kidding — that’s not the whole town! Here are the rest of them:
After the Christmas carol lyric sheets are distributed, the evening’s live entertainment hits the stage lawn:
After a rousing rendition of Deck The Halls, the townsfolk gaze upon the darkened municipal tree and begin the countdown. Ten… nine… eight… what is this sticky stuff on Bossy’s gloves?… seven… oh, it’s sake… six… five… Bossy’s friend Martha says Bossy was pouring her sake from the top of her thermos rather than the bottom… four… three… but Bossy doesn’t know what in feck she’s talking about… two… one!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by; yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting light…
The hopes and fears of all the years, are met in thee tonight… And do you know why the fears are met in thee tonight? Because the town fire truck storms around the corner and pulls up to the curb with its sirens blasting:
And then, yes he does, Santa climbs off that fire truck and throws candy at the small children’s heads:
And then the townsfolk retire to the fire station for hot chocolate and donuts:
In the fire station Bossy wades ankle-deep through hot chocolate puddles and eats her weight in glaze and spies yet another million-dollar idea she forgot to think of.
The end.
Sympathy on the technical difficulties.
–>I hate when I have technical difficulty. Good luck!
So do you put the baby in the coat first, then put the coat on?? I’m having a few technical difficulties of my own trying to figure that one out.
Seriously… where do I get that cute red coat? I could do without the one with the baby attached, though; seems like it might be a bit pricey.
I like blurry Santa. Didn’t you mean to make him look totally action-packed?
That’s my best buddy with her baby in that backpack! And, we were going to the tree thingy but it rained and my boy isn’t good with rain. At all. Like, he’s all, “I’M MELTING! MELTING!”
Still, looks like fun.
LOL, Bossy. LOL.
Ingenious baby pack! It’s torture trying to get a regular baby carrier on over a coat. Hope your technical woes are resolved quickly.
Your night photography looks suspiciously like my day photography. Let’s get together and discuss it over a thermos of sake.
Sake. Thermos. Ingenious.
I saw someone wearing a similar coat in my area a few weeks back. I’m not a mom but I think it’s the coolest thing evah!
Here is one place to get it (that I found online after inquiring w/ the mom/wearer I saw):

Farty remembers what came next. Hugs to Bossy Jr.
Did the Santa let the kidz sit their poopy diaper azzes onto his lap while lying to them that they will get everyting they want dis year?
That red coat is super cute. I bet she would have told you where she got it if you had shared your sake.
someone posted the site in a previous comment, but i was going to say it’s a special coat made for people who carry their kids on their backs, the carrier isn’t built in to the coat…
