Picture a desolate slum in the middle of an American city in the 1920s. The lady on the left is Native American and she is crazy. She takes in strays: dogs, orphans, and boarders of ill intent. She doesn’t do this out of the kindness of her heart but because she receives a small government kick-back. She is hideous. Here she sits in the alley with a neighbor and a neighbor kid, but very soon an infant will be left on her doorstep during a terrible storm.
And that Girl Baby is Bossy’s Grandmother.
