Brooms. No kidding, this task is one of the few housekeeping chores Bossy doesn’t mind. There is something so before-and-after-ish about sweeping — there is a clear result.
In other countries, most shop keepers begin each day by brooming the store and the sidewalk in front of the store — a habit lost in America to Leaf Blowers.
When Bossy was in Mexico a couple of years ago, a teenage boy was responsible for sweeping the floor of the Internet Cafe where Bossy spent many hours a day writing about things such as teenage boys who sweep Internet Cafes.
The broom pictured is only three feet long and used to belong to Bossy’s daughter when she was younger and shorter. Now it makes a perfect camping broom, and Bossy has attached it to the outside of the pop-up trailer so she can compulsively sweep many, many times a day.
