They televise the Lightweight Double Sculls event:
They televise Men’s Badminton:
They televise Trampoline:
And they televise Weightlifting:
Or maybe Bossy’s friend Amy just missed it. Is there an Olympic event you’d like to see more of?
Perhaps: Women’s Ending Sentences With Prepositions?

August 20, 2008 at 11:14 amCanoe/Kayak! I can’t find it, anywhere, and NBC’s online videos only work for people who subscribe to certain cable companies. Boo!

August 20, 2008 at 11:15 amOooh, I love Women’s Ending Sentences With Prepositions. Poor Amy. I’ve got to say, though, that I caught some trampoline events on my friend Mark’s 50″ flat screen hi-D TV this past weekend? Trampoline now rocks my world.
Jacquie says
August 20, 2008 at 11:19 amI saw some equestrian stuff on MSNBC late one night. I’d like to see more water polo – those men are hot tamales and their little hats make me giggle.
p.s. Hi Ellie!
p.p.s. Look Bossy, no links!

August 20, 2008 at 11:46 amBossy’s friend Amy should be watching Oxygen– apparently NBC decided that Equestrian was for girls… and aired it on the girl network all last week!
Pamela says
August 20, 2008 at 11:54 amPoor Bossy’s friend Amy. My wee gal is having the exact same problem with the Olympics. Not enough horses. But she’s five, and there are never enough horses for five year olds, as far as I can tell.

August 20, 2008 at 11:56 amNo, but if drinking wine was a competition, I bet I’d win.

August 20, 2008 at 12:32 pmI’m still waiting for the All-Nude Olympics. Am I alone here?
Love the artwork, by the way. You ooze talent like a staph infection oozes puss. That’s a compliment, see because getting rid of the puss is a GOOD thing as it reduces the swelling and gets rid of the nasty bacteria. So in short, you’re the bomb.
Am I turning you on yet?
Big Hair Envy says
August 20, 2008 at 12:34 pmDara’s link distracted me. I’ve got nothing.
Thanks, Dara;) Photos of MP in a Speedo take precedent over pretty much everything else in my book!

August 20, 2008 at 12:47 pmI missed rowing. I like the intensity of the races.
In winter HOlympics, we LOVE to watch curling. We don’t have that here in FL. We don’t have much ice here. Just hurricanes.
blackbird says
August 20, 2008 at 12:47 pmYep. The Oxygen network is airing the “girl” sports. Two nights of Synchronized Swimming (and Bossy better not scoop me on that post).

August 20, 2008 at 1:19 pmI dunno. In equestrian events I think it’s the horse who is the athlete…not so much the rider. But that’s just me. Anyway…horses should have their own Olympics…or any event where the animal does the hard work. I’m just sayin’.
Blue Lady says
August 20, 2008 at 1:32 pmThe equestrian events are on Oxygen network at 6pm. I guess only women would be interested so they stuck them there.
Big Hair Envy says
August 20, 2008 at 1:34 pmThank you Bossy.

August 20, 2008 at 1:35 pmI saw equestrian events on CBC. Lucky me, I live close enough to Canada to get a CBC station with my antenna. (Canadian TV rocks, by the way.)

August 20, 2008 at 1:39 pmPersonally I’d like to see Bossy take the gold in Women’s Blogging.
HIlary says
August 20, 2008 at 1:40 pmIf you can catch Canada’s CBC on satellite, you’ll see far more events than those that only cover American medal hopefuls. We tend to broadcast all events whether or not we have key athletes competing for a medal. We’re either unbiased, or figure we have little chance of winning anyway. 😉

August 20, 2008 at 1:51 pmShooting. Specifically the pistol events. How did I not know before this year that there were 22 cal pistol events? (Also, anyone can watch the online videos. They don’t know what company you subscribe to. Just pick one that works. It’s what I did.)

August 20, 2008 at 1:54 pmPlease do some drawings of synchronized swimming and diving. 😀
Nichol says
August 20, 2008 at 1:57 pmI think they got rid of this years ago, but whatever happened to synchronized swimming? And what happens to the athletes who used to train for that? Maybe Bossy should investigate, that way I can sleep at night… 🙂

August 20, 2008 at 1:59 pmOr am I just an idiot, and there really still IS synchronized swimming…?
Noelle says
August 20, 2008 at 2:12 pmMy #1 complaint about the Olympics is that the TV coverage makes it seem like three events are held every day. I would like to see more of everything, please.

August 20, 2008 at 2:31 pmIf equestrianing were an actual sport, maybe they’d show it. Sorry.
And Dara? I’ve finally had enough of MP.
Lisa says
August 20, 2008 at 2:51 pmOoooh – boy do I hate NBC’s Olympics coverage. Everytime I turn to the Olympics it’s either MP swimming or Bob Costas being self-congratulatory. P~~~~ I haven’t seen a moment of gymnastics, rhythmic or otherwise.
On a totally hardly related note: did you know that in China, women’s badminton players are celebrities? Recognized on the street and autograph hounded and everything? What a crazy world we live in.
Sharon says
August 20, 2008 at 2:55 pmI’d like to see more interviews that do not include the reporter asking the athlete questions about Michael Phelps. Concentrate on the person in front of you, not Michael Phelps. GAH!

August 20, 2008 at 3:05 pmI want to see the potato-chip gorging competition. Because I know there isn’t one competitor in that event who could beat me. I just didn’t enter in time. Too busy eating chips.

August 20, 2008 at 3:36 pmThey televised the jumping event – whatever it’s called.
Personally, I’d like to see five full hours of Michael Phelps flexing, Michael Phelps stretching, Michael Phelps shaving his chest, Michael Phelps eating Cheerios, and whatever else Michael Phelps does while nearly naked.
David says
August 20, 2008 at 3:38 pmAmy just wasn’t trying. I caught an equestrian event just the other day. The rider was one of the few to have a perfect run on the steeplechase. It was rather exciting. He was from Brazil or someplace like that.
What I’d like to see: The men’s gymnastics post-competition showers.
Jen W. says
August 20, 2008 at 3:51 pmI like the trampoline. It’s like the coolest gymnastics tricks, without the insincere dancing parts. I don’t especially want to see synchronized swimming. My husband says, sure they are athletic, but that doesn’t make it a sport. would you judge a ballerina? BUT, I do know that my 5 year old daughter is going to be seriously impressed by the dancing/swimming/sparkly make-up. I am looking forward to her reaction.

August 20, 2008 at 5:01 pmHow about anything but women’s beach volleyball? Everytime I turn on NBC, women’s beach volleyball is on. Why? Oh, I know, because it is an excuse to put on women jumping around in bikini’s and call it sports.

August 21, 2008 at 3:17 amIm sitting here with my mouth agape (is that right?) just in awe of your “paintings”….I mean, look at that trampoline, that is amazingly brilliant!
I think if Bossy hurrys over to china, she can sit on the road and sell her olympic paintings for a lot of money (probably more than google pays, or those ‘per-click’ companies…) And, knowing how the tourists and olympic-attenders are, bossy will soon become an internationally famous artiste!
Seriously, you are fantastic at these paintings. (and I cant even write my name on line.)
