Shoe repair shops.
These storefronts have become obsolete in many parts of the country, but in New York City, where people need to treat their footwear like tires, these repair shops are every few blocks.
Bossy is convinced that’s why New Yorkers have such cute shoes. It’s not that the shoes are so different, it’s just that they’re worn.
I miss shoe repair shops……
So, does Bossy think the name Andrade is the real owners name or is s/he, like Bossy bringing in the race car, tire thingy to attract business. By the way, part of the Andrade family lives across the valley from, on the ritzy side.
None of the shoes I now own are worth taking to a repair shop. However, when I was in college I bought a pair of cowboy boots that I luuuuuurved and literally wore the soles off. I had them resoled multiple times, until the day came when I took them in and the shoe repair man said they weren’t repairable anymore. So, for those whose ears are still ringing from that scream they heard in 1988, I’m sorry…
