This Pie Crust Sleeve. And yes there’s a pie crust sleeve there, even though it blends with the counter and about food photography: hi, have you met Bossy?
Perhaps this is better?
Speaking of pie crust sleeves, the winner of the telepathy award goes to Abby, a Bossy reader who guessed the cheap gadget Bossy was referring to when she said she found something that significantly improved her pie crusts.
Here’s the thing: Bossy doesn’t have a lot of counter space or dough-friendly surfaces like marble or stainless steel and there isn’t enough room in general for dusting everything with flour and there isn’t even the space for a toaster oven or for two people to be cooking at the same time and sorry but has Bossy slipped off topic again?
This plastic sleeve is great, you simply dust both sides with a little flour and then stick your crust in there where stick equals it doesn’t stick because, duh, flour, but anyway — you place your dough in the center of the sleeve and zip it up and roll away, from the center out in one direction only, of course.
Bossy bought the 14″ size because she’d rather there be room for error and boy are there errors.
These things are available here and there, but Bossy also located one here: 5 dollah and change:
LOVE the pies, Babe

This is a must for me. I do not like the clean up involved with dusting countertops with flour.
I wonder if bossy jr. remembers that this is her great grandmother Alberta’s rolling pin.
Oh, a misnomer, because bossy jr. ISN’T bossy!!
Uh I hate to mention this, Bossy, because of the whole VT Country Store thing…but it’s a dollar less!
Should this be a poverty party comment?
I don’t think it vibrates…

If I bought this, would I have to start baking? Because like…. hell to the NO.
Could Bossy’s daughter please put her hair color in a bottle and market it?!?!?!
SO PRETTY!!!
two words…..Betty Crocker
I’ve always been a huge proponent of the Pastry Frame http://www.kitchenkrafts.com/product.asp?pn=BE3096&bhcd2=1228340490 but the sleeve sounds like it would use up less counter space. On the other hand, it would make it harder to roll out cookie dough.
Oh – I have to get me one of those! I have less counter space than Bossy and that’s FOR SURE.
I love to make pies but hate that my crusts turn out wonky. I saw pie crust sleeve 2 days before thanksgiving and bought it thinking I’d be the only person on the planet desperate enough to use it. I LOVE it – much less floury mess and less wonky crust! I feel like I’m in good company!
Love the Bossy Daughter Dimple, btw.
This actually would be pretty awesome for when I make rugallach. I’ll bet Bed Bath & Beyond would have one.
That is da bom. I have enough counter space and I still want that. And, the fact that it’s cheap? Means it Will. Be. Mine. Soon.
What a clever gadget! I have never seen one of those before. I love to bake but have never had good luck with pie crusts because I always have to use too much flour to keep it from sticking to the rolling pin. I just ordered one of those for myself and three to give as gifts. Thanks for the tip, Bossy!
I’m going to buy these for all of my family, friends and other loved ones as a subtle suggestion that they should be making me more pies.
That’s not even 10 miunets well spent!
