My 10-y.o. *still* has Mama radar, and if I’m up, he’s up. I surrendered a long time ago, and just remember to soak up his company and funny ways, ’cause it won’t be long ’til he’s outta here. I miss alone time, though, I truly do.
Ah, I love that early morning peace and quiet. Confession, some times I get annoyed when people wake earlier than the norm and “join” me in my alone time….
I crave alone time more than I crave fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce, and that’s saying something because I have to drive an hour just to get some of those. I nearly had a stroke today because my alone time was so interrupted; I’m pretty sure my head spun around twice and I became more hideous with each revolution.
I need to surrender and accept that alone time doesn’t exist unless everyone else is asleep, which explains why Bossy doesn’t get much sleep.
Do you turn on those special lights around the window for your alone time or do they just burn all the time. I love my alone time (4:30 or 5:00am to 6:30 – then it’s over till tomorrow.)
I love the idea of this time of day, though I’ve seldom seen it. I saw the sunrise while on vacation once in a house that faced east and realized with a panic that I had left the bedroom door open. Shudder. Your house is beautiful, though.

of course, at CU, 9:00 is generally early enough to catch it, not 5:30 ….

I”m also imagining all those folks around that table plus the annex table, laughing and drinking wine and enjoying each other.
