Welcome to Bossy’s Ear Worm, which will feature songs currently in Bossy’s headphones. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
The Old 97s, Dance With Me.
Bossy doesn’t know very much about this band, who formed in the early 90s, or their frontman Rhett Miller — except they are described as alternative country, and consider their biggest influences The Kinks, the Beatles, and Johnny Cash.
Whatever. This song from their 2008 release did it for Bossy the other day. Cool phrasing in the verses, especially if you enjoy a nice run-on sentence. And at the time Bossy was making tracks, in her car, loud music, always in the car with the loud music.

April 7, 2009 at 3:42 pmI also love Old 97’s. My favorite song? “Book of Poems.” Or, if you’re talking solo Rhett Miller, I’d have to say “Question.”
