Welcome to Bossy’s Ear Worm, which will feature songs currently in Bossy’s headphones. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
Roxy Music, More Than This.
Speaking of old school, Bossy heard More Than This in her jogging headphones the other day, and before she knew it she was wiping away airborne tree blossoms from her cheeks, except they weren’t tree blossoms, they were tears.
This record and this song always touched Bossy. And then he sang it to her in one of Bossy’s favorite movies, and when he did, it was thankfully devoid of lounge singer schtick, because: poignant.
Don’t get Bossy started on the poignant.

April 20, 2009 at 12:59 pmThis is why I can’t listen to music while I run. If I start to cry, I start to sob. The next step after sobbing while running is asphyxiation which really kind of interferes with the whole process.
Thanks for the reminding me of one of my favorite movies, too.

April 20, 2009 at 4:04 pmThis was THE perfect song for that scene–he’s too old for it, she’s too young for it, we were just right for it, apparently. This song makes my day and makes me pine simultaneously every. single. time. and my dog is wondering why I just started dancing around my house.
