Windows. Whether it’s looking out of windows or looking into windows, Bossy has a thing for windows and the little vignettes they create.
That’s because windows frame life.
When Bossy was a girl, she used to turn off all the lights in her bedroom, and then place a lamp behind her dollhouse so she could sit across the room and soak up the glow emanating from behind her dollhouse windows.
I never thought of the joy of windows as vignettes, but now realize that’s exactly how I would have wanted to express it!
PS I like how the vase shape mimics the window behind it.
That’s a beautiful photo! I love the vase. When I was a child, I had a bedroom upstairs. I used to put my Barbies in a basket and let them down through the window to the ground below. Elevator!
Truer words were never spoke. I prefer walking and night and looking through peoples windows. From the street. As I’m walking. Not up close. EWWWW. That would be Peeping Tomesque
I feel the same way–which is why I use window coverings very sparingly.
Out with the old (tulips), in with the new (azaleas).
That little girl stuff you did was the precursor for evening lights-on-inside-curtains-not-yet-drawn window peeping, which I’ve heard Bossy likes to do on occasion. (Me too.) Once somebody asked you to post photos of an evening peeping stroll. Second that motion.
P.S. Cool rectangular vase. Good photo composition.
There’s nothing more warming to my insides than the look of my house from the outside with yellow light glowing from the windows.
So…vignettes = frames?
Just once in my life I’d like to live in a temperate climate where I didn’t have to have window coverings to keep heat out. My favorite thing is windows without coverings, but it just doesn’t work in the heat. Lovely window vignette, Bossy.
Awww… little Bossy is adorable : ).
Beautiful picture…can I stalk your house?
Again: read Bossy. Feel kinship. Heaven.
I like the picture I have of Bossy in my mind – as a little girl in her jammies cuddling a teddy.
