Bossy’s daughter and her clarinet. If only Bossy’s daughter considered it a favorite thing.
above photo: this past Friday, Bossy’s daughter participated in the middle school’s Band Night, which means they join the High School marching band for a pre-game show.

September 28, 2009 at 10:10 amI miss playing my clarinet in the HS marching band. Tell her that if she keeps it up and plays in college — attending a bowl game makes it ALL worth it!

September 28, 2009 at 12:20 pmMy daughter could be in the marching orchestra with her violin, ‘cept it’s too hard for the cellos and there really isn’t a marching orchestra.

September 28, 2009 at 1:36 pmAh, clarinet in band many moons ago. My favorite extracurricular to quit. Hope Bossy’s Daughter has more perseverance than me!

September 28, 2009 at 4:17 pmBossy, great band action photo (although the smiling cheerleader looks ripe for a thought bubble)!! My #1 son was one and done with the clarinet (he mercifully quit after playing one year in sixth grade; took me awhile to remember to take the cotton out of my ears!), while the #2 son was one and done with the cornet (same experience with the cotton). Maybe the clarinet will become a favorite for Bossy’s daughter?

September 28, 2009 at 4:40 pmClarinets have earned us many lovely vacations. Husband has played with klezmer bands, big bands (40’s music), and in days of yore, symphonies and ballet orchestras. Of course, he liked the clarinet from the get-go and did consider it a Favorite Thing. All except for marching band during college and having to go to football games.
