Welcome to Bossy’s Ear Worm, which features songs currently in Bossy’s headphones. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
Led Zeppelin, The Crunge.
Here’s the thing about Led Zeppelin and this tune off their 1973 record Houses of the Holy: they weren’t afraid to introduce different influences and musical genres, and they assimilated them in a very genuine way.
The Crunge is obviously all James Brown-like, down to the bridge reference. As a kid, Bossy wore the grooves off this one, while eyeing up the album cover of the blonde alien children, which made Bossy both mesmerized and terrified — because truth be told, Bossy looked almost identical to the long-haired girl in front at the time, right down to the large hands.
Nice choice.
Classic…love it.
Damn Bossy, as soon as I saw the cover I chanted, “Over the Hills and Far Away!” hoping upon hope it was your earworm. It’s my fave.
Bossy, we’re listening to the same album! RAD!
Where is that confounded bridge????? LOVE!
Did Bossy have that cute little tushie too?
