This cluster of high rise apartment buildings in Philadelphia, designed by I.M. Pei. It’s where Bossy grew up and lived for nearly twenty years. It will always be home.
I agree with Bossy, THIS will always be home. A glorious fishbowl in the sky overlooking waterways and the town below. Acres of green surrounding these award winning buildings was a big attraction to those of us that liked open spaces. And, oh what fun it was.
When I was in college (on the other side of the Schuylkill), I sneaked in to a stairwell once and climbed to the roof of one of those towers. Nice view!
So fascinating, and so different a childhood environs from my college-town single family childhood home. Which I still love driving past on the rare occasion when I’m in that town.
I.M. Pei! Pretty fancy architecting on your apartment!
I have the same longing for Pasadena. Although I live 4 blocks from the Pacific ocean now Pasadena will always be home to me simply because of the sweetness I carved out for myself during the 10 yrs I lived in Pasadena. And, oh the live oaks—beauty for days.
