Bossy’s daughter is all Talk to the Hand. But Bossy thought you should know Bossy’s daughter was just cast as Dorothy in the local theater’s production of The Wizard of Oz, running later this spring.
Been there, doing that! What momarazzo doesn’t have a large gallery of photos of their kids’ hands blocking their faces? I might make a tongue-in-cheek photobook of all of mine some day!
Oh, and congrats to Bossy’s daughter on snagging the plum role! Bet she’ll be great. Plus she won’t be able to cover her face while on stage, so you’ll be able to take her photo unimpeded.
Yay, Bossy’s Daughter! I tried out for that role once upon a time, back when the world was flat. I was cast instead in the role most universally dreaded by fourteen-year-old girls: King of the Winged Monkeys. Mortifying, but secretly also fun.
Three years later I was cast as Charlotte in Charlotte’s Web, thanks to my prior experience with roles requiring me to flap my arms a lot.
My oldest son does that to me when I’m trying to take his picture. Then I chase him around the house with my camera. I’ve gotten some good pictures of him that way. A lot of terrible ones, too.
And it doesn’t involve slicked-back complicated hair buns. I can envision her now, all blue and white and full of vitality.
Did Bossys Son get all Talk To The Hand at some point shortly before he left for college? He seemed to be curiously absent from photos for a period of time there.
Congrats! I’m jealous of Bossy’s daughter. Wizard of Oz is my FAVORITE movie. I am way to old to play Dorothy and too young for Aunt Em. I could run lines…….I have my own copy of the script.
Congrats to Bossy’s daughter! My daughter was cast as Dorothy in a Theatre on Ice production of Wizard of Oz that ended last summer. To this day, the younger kids at the skating rink still refer to her as Dorothy!
Bossy’s daughter, that is awesome! You totally rock, and I know that your Mom loves hanging out in your limelight.
But don’t forget the other side of the camera either – you did a more than incredible job of capturing the beauty, simplicity, and awesomeness of Bossy, the former champion ice skater. Really, it was a beautifully filmed short piece – it still sticks in my mind. You have a talent for capturing the beautiful and unique just like your Bossy Mom.

March 11, 2010 at 11:44 amThis sounds like a case of casting to type–I can just picture it!
And her being busy with all the rehearsals should leave Bossy guilt-free on her (No)Book Tour.
A win-win!
