Hey! Bossy’s Daughter here with a complete update from home.
- I have recently been cast as Dorothy in a community theater production of The Wizard of Oz. I’m trying not to be too obsessed with learning my lines and talking about rehearsals and stuff, but these past few weeks have been strictly Off To See The Wizard around here!
- Meanwhile Bossy’s Dane is all Dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true.
- Bossy’s Husband and his more demanding schedule have been very If I Only Had A Brain.
- Bossy’s Son visited last weekend to take The Delightful One to a comedy show nearby. While he was here, he studied almost constantly at the local library, being all Oh-Eee-Oh-Eeee-Ohhh-Aah.
- I have been sick the past few days, probably caused by the
wicked old witchPSSA tests, but Bossy’s Mom took really good care of me and even picked up some food for me to eat from the local grocery store. When she came over she looked around and acted all, I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore. - Meanwhile, Baby David has been no different. Although, he is awfully If I only had the noive.
- To pass the time while I was sick, Rub rub here, rub rub there, whether you are tin or bronze, thats how we keep you in repair in the merry old land of oz, I have been piecing together outfits that I can’t afford but love.
Since it’s spring, I decided to go on different websites grabbing pictures of clothes that catch my eye. My outfit represents a spring-ish look, but for a colder spring day, not the warm days we’ve been having where I live.
The shirt is the Crocheted Back Top from Wet Seal, the jeans are the Fab Skinny Jeans from Forever 21, the bag is the Bonjour Forever Tote from Forever 21, the retro style sunglasses are the F0143 Sunglasses from Forever 21, the jean jacket is the Bleach Splatter Jacket from Wet Seal, and the cute sandals are the Jewel T-Strap Sandals from Wet Seal.
Anyway, while Bossy is away meeting her old friends, and making new ones, the family is here missing her terribly.
Just remember: There’s no place like home.
Well, “Dorothy” it looks as if things are running well. I love what you have done with your brother and his outfit. Your new skinny stuff will look fab, and you are probably as skinny minny as your mom.
Do you think you have guilted her into coming home sooner? It might work. Hang in there.
What an excellent post, Bossy’s Daughter! Not only fun for us to read, but it’s going to be twanging Bossy’s heart-strings like nobody’s business. Never mind the Emerald City, it’s Bluesville for Bossy!
You have your mother’s gift for expression, Lady.
Thank you, Bossy’s daughter!
Did Stella audition for Toto?
OH thank god….I thought while I was reading this that I might be cast as “The Wicked Witch”.
Yesterday I firmly suggested that Bossys Daughter Dorothy clean her room.
She firmly suggested that she likes it better all “tornadoee”.
Awesome guest post. Great job!
Heh… if THAT doesn’t make her homesick, Bossy’s daughter, NOTHING will!! Great job,

BB
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous post! Bossy’s daughter, you should have your own blog. You have a real talent for it.
Congratulations on landing the Dorothy role.
Congratulations, Bossy’s Daughter, on getting the role of Dorothy!
I love the outfits you put together.
Very clever, Bossy’s daughter – well done! Love the outfit, BTW.
Dear DOB (Daughter of Bossy)~Just as long as there are no flying monkeys around the house I think you’ll all do really well.
Enjoyed the picture of SOB (Son of Bossy), very clever.
Enjoyed your post…and the nod to spring clothes!
Congratulations on the new role!
Bravo, Bossy’s Daughter! You will make a fantastic Dorothy, and if you’re theater career doesn’t pan out you always have writing to fall back on.
Dear Bossy’s Daughter and Bossy’s Mom,
In the brief–and I’m talking BRIEF– time Bossy stayed here with me in Nashville, she talked about both of you so much! I have a 13 year old daughter, Charlotte, and my rockin’ mom is 93 (I KNOW the age comparison doesn’t fit here, Bossy’s mom!) and like Bossy, I feel blessed and lucky to be a part of the weird, wonderful family from whose collective loins I have sprung. I am delighted to read your very own words and get a taste of your personality. I hope you enjoy every minute of your play rehearsals. (Also? Way to stinkin’ go on the fashion tutorial! How smart are you to let your mom know where to get them?! Because come on, she can totally find Forever 21 and Wet Seal stores in every city she’s visiting– and nothing says “I missed you” like a new outfit, I always say…)
Good on you, Bossy’s Daughter, for getting the lead in the play! I know you’ll be totally fabulous! And really? I think Stella would make an awesome Toto.
Great guest post!
Hello!!–THE WIZARD here!
You look marvelous,Dorothy!
Can’t wait to see you in the merry old land of Oz!
On behalf of the rest of the country, I’d like to say, Thanks for loaning us your mom for a couple weeks!”
Oh Bossy’s Daughter, what a great post. I was sniffling by the end and I can’t imagine (well, yes I can) how Bossy’s was by the time she finished reading!
Congrats on the Oz part! You’ll be amazing!
Aw, L’il Bossy — you done good.
P.S. — If you ever decide on a career as a personal shopper for ladies MUCH OLDER THAN YOU, I’ll be your first client. : )
Dear Bossy, Please give Bossy’s Daughter her own weekly forum. Love, imagine1community.
Bossy’s Daughter/Dorothy has clearly inherited her mother’s wit and charm! I’m sure once Bossy reads that post, she’ll be clicking her heels together and saying, “there’s no place like home!”
Love you Bossy’s Daughter!
What a great post. I hope you WOW them in the play. And 300 lines? OY!
Loved reading this, Bossy’s daughter! Very clever creative post. And I also love the outfits you put together!
Bossy’s daughter, you are so talented and creative! You write very well, and I enjoyed your post very very much. By the way, I think you did an incredible job filming your Mom when she did her world champion ice skating demonstration. I think you’d be just as excellent behind the camera as in front. You take care and feel better soon.
Dear Dorothy – I knew you when you were just a tiny farm girl, and now you’re sparkling, heel-clicking, multi-faceted, weaver of all things creative! I had the pleasure of catching up with your mamma the other night… she can’t wait to get home and paint sets for your production. I think you should do a life size just like your bossy brother’s pic above – at least blow it up as a poster for his dorm. Take care and keep up the bossiness.
Thanks for loaning out your mom, Bossy’s Daughter – she’s a treasure! Congrats on the role of Dorothy – I love how you’ve woven it into this post…pure brilliance!
(And I love the outfit…make me want to go shopping and pick it up for myself. Do they sell that in 41-year old?)
Cute post! I love the outfit – even though the shoes aren’t red and sparkly (à la Dorothy). Those Ray-Ban Wayfarerish sunglasses take me back…
oh bossy’s daughter…you are just precious. I told your mom next time she needs to do her roadtrip in the summer so i can finally meet you! or ya know, i could just visit y’all sometime. congrats on getting THE LEAD! that is awesome and a half
Cute outfit and clever post there Bossy’s daughter! I bet you make your mother so proud! Two thumbs up girl.
You are going to ROCK that Dorothy role! Congrats!!!
Oh, Bossy’s daughter, you are too stinkin’ cute. Good luck with your upcoming performance. Is Stella the stand in for Toto?
Wooo, Bossy’s Girl Child totally zinged the guest post!
I second the suggestion that you should command a side-bar spot of your very own. Tally your hits and comments and keep them in mind when you do your college application (which, sorry to say, Bossy, is just around the corner and we KNOW how you are gonna feel about the whole “empty nest” thing, oh yes we do!) (Investment tip to Bossy’s readers: Kleenex! Significant sales surge is just on the horizon) Might come in handy if you’re applying for a degree in creative writing, or fashion design, or theater arts, or psychology (what with all you’ve learned growing up in the House of Bossy and all) or any of the zillion or so other things that are out there now for bright creative kids like you to choose from.
well done – very well done. clearly your family havea na bundance of talent. i’m sure you’ll be a smashing success in your new role – much luck to you.
Does bossy’s daughter use polyvore? I love polyvore.
Break a leg, Bossy’s daughter! It is a very awesome thing to snag the lead.
Cry cry cry cry, sob sob sob sob sob. And, thanks for the post, Kid!
Just remember Bossy’s Daughter, when you are feeling all
“Oh, Auntie Em, don’t go away! I’m frightened! Come back! Come back!” that ” A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others.” And we can tell your mother (and many others) love you! (enough to buy you that outfit? that’s up to Bossy!)
Bossy’s Daughter is too cute for words. Congratulations on the part! That outfit is adorable. I can see myself in it, which I’m not sure what that says about me since I’m old enough to be your mother!
Dear Bossy’s Daughter-
Loved everything about your post- you have the gift!
I definitely think you deserve the outfit and more for your good work!
Break a leg!
She does have the gift. My only question — wot the fook am I wearing?? haha
Darling post, Bossy’s Daughter. Congrats on the Dorothy role. Cute outfit..
Not surprisingly, Bossy’s Daughter is every bit as talented as Bossy! Thank you for the fresh guest post, and I can’t leave without saying that I love the outfit.
Yeah for you Bossy’s Daughter! We will look forward to pictures of your performance! Love the white top you choose for your spring outfit!
Creative, funny, well done post! I’ve been wondering about Baby David, so thanks for the *complete* family update!
Watch out Bossy…you have got a blogger on your hands!! Bossy’s daughter, you are wonderful. You will be a perfect Dorothy! Please post about it when the show is running.
Love the update post! Love the outfit! The girl apple has obviously not fallen far from the momma tree. Except I see that you don’t have the freakishly long right arm that Bossy does.
Thank you for giving up your mom for this trip out into the hinterlands of Ozmerica. What she is doing – bringing people together – really IS important.
BittyBossy, you are very talented. Next road trip, you get to go with Bossy…I insist.
Bossy’s son would look even more fabulous in that photo with a pesky lion’s tail swishing all out of control and frighteningly likely to rat him out that he’s not actually a Guard of the West (or whatever). I lurfed it.
And your entire post, BD. excellent job.
gosh darn it, she’s better than me and i’m old enough to be her mother.
well done, bossy’s daughter
You would make Judy Garland proud! I’m sure your Bossy mom is.
There are some interesting deadlines in this article however I don’t know if I see all of them center to heart. There may be some validity however I’ll take hold opinion till I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we would like more! Added to FeedBurner as properly
There’s noticeably a bundle to learn about this. I assume you made sure nice points in features also.
