Bossy’s daughter has the unique opportunity of traveling abroad by herself this summer, where she’s staying with old family friends. This photo was taken minutes before she left for the airport — her expression encapsulates the trepidation she felt about flying alone.
Luckily you know who was on hand to lend encouragement, having travelled alone to Japan when he was only ten.

Is she travelling solo? Wow! We’re having conversations here about sending/not sending my twelve y/o son alone to the Netherlands…

She will have so much fun! I love that her big brother was there to give her that hug. Wishing her safe travels and many, many great memories.

How exciting. Safe and happy travels. I hope we can look out for notes from an even-further-flung correspondent.

I hope she has a great trip. I just put my 14-year-old son on a plane ALONE this morning and I am a nervous wreck…he is meeting up with his group in Atlanta.

Bon voyage, BOSSY Daughter, and call your mother often. We need her to stay firmly on the rails! (as much as that is possible)

It’s nice to see how Bossy’s daughter’s face is maturing.
Cactus Petunia saysJune 29, 2010 at 1:32 am
She looks so grown up! Is Bossy a nervous wreck yet?

I wish I had been able to travel like that as a kid. You manage to give your children the best experiences.
