Dear BossysSon, my husband grew a really really thick beard starting when he was 17. Some random lady kept harping at him to remove it, saying how much nicer he would look if he shaved it off. Being clever, stubborn, and not swayed by what random ladies told him to do, he finally told her that he HAD to have the beard because he’d had jaw cancer and had had a bunch of his jaw removed, so the beard was a necessary cover-up. Shut that lady right up.
Your beard, unfortunately, wouldn’t qualify for the “cover-up” line, and besides Bossy’s friend amy would be clued in about the no-jaw-removal thing. I think you look nice both ways. As if this random lady’s opinion matters one way or the other.
