You are looking at Bossy’s new Little Black Dress — although teetering at nearly six feet tall without the heels, Bossy has never considered anything in her wardrobe little.
Here’s the deal: Bossy’s friends at Yummie Tummie asked Bossy to test drive one of their new Little Black Dresses from their ready to wear collection, and to style that dress in two uniquely different ways for two different occasions — which Bossy did, except she only styled the dress for one occasion, because apparently Bossy wears the same accessories whether she’s scaling boulders or out to dinner with the senior executives of Coca Cola. Shall we?
The dress Bossy chose was the Ella Rae with it’s subtle bodice stitching and slightly Morticia sleeves.
Bossy fell in love with her new dress the minute it arrived, swimming in the bottom of a mailing bag — and yet it wasn’t the worse for wear due to its forgiving rayon jersey material.
And so Bossy promptly threw the dress on for a 50th birthday party! And then Bossy went to that 50th birthday party except she had the wrong night! So there Bossy stood, just her and her Little Black Dress and the hosts’ dining room table covered with unpaid bills because they weren’t expecting company until next weekend! But still, the Little Black Dress was ready to party into the night!
Here are the ways Bossy would accessorize her dress in order to attend a 50th birthday party which is actually one week away — or if Bossy were wearing this dress while walking waist-deep through thistle. Oh, believe Bossy, it’ll happen.
First she’d put on a flashy bracelet:
Next Bossy would put on a dangling necklace. In fact she did!
Bossy would keep it very simple when it comes to her earring selection, which is a lucky thing since Bossy only has two pairs of earrings anyway: a pair of simple hoops and a pair of simple studs.
In terms of the hair, Bossy would probably clip it to the top of her head:
Unless of course Bossy decided to allow her unruly hair to climb down out of its clip. Even the insane deserve a weekend pass every once in a while:
As far as the shoes, Bossy would wear these heels because there aren’t too many days remaining this season which are temperate enough for strappy feet:
Bossy is also looking forward to wearing this dress into the winter by pairing it with leggings and her boots.
But before Bossy leaves the subject of the heels and the bracelet and the hair and the dress, Bossy would like to thank her personal photographer:
Even if Bossy’s personal photographer delighted in proving that real models don’t pick their nose:
So, back to the deal: Bossy’s friends at Yummie Tummie would like to give a Little Black Dress to one lucky Bossy reader! You can pick between the Ella Rae Long Sleeve Dress or the more revealing Shelley Tank Dress.
Simply leave a comment below and Bossy will select a winner utilizing her friend the Random Number Generator. Good luck!
This post is part of a series sponsored by Yummie Tummie and Clever Girls Collective. All of the opinions are Bossy’s.

November 15, 2010 at 11:26 amI don’t know if I’m brave enough to wear that tank dress, but I would like to dress up as twins with Bossy one night in the Ella Rae even though we are not built like twins so maybe no one will even notice that we are wearing the same dress because I’m shorter and not so skinny as Bossy and she is super tall and willowy.

November 15, 2010 at 11:28 pmIf one is about five feet tall will this dress look as hot as when one is nearly six feet tall? And your photographer did a fab job of capturing all that hotness.

November 16, 2010 at 11:05 amHas Bossy tried getting a gig as a model? Tall and thin with wild hair is what they want.
I like the dress you’re wearing, but no way is that knee length. Well, I guess it might be on me because I’m about three feet shorter than you are. Well not really three feet, but close.

Nancy says
November 16, 2010 at 1:57 pmOne can never have too many LBD’s!
I won’t be sassy and say I have the perfect CFM’s to go with it … or did I just blow it by saying I won’t say it?
*either way, I got CFM and blow in the same sentence*
Accccckkk, grow up Nancy!

SJ says
November 19, 2010 at 2:27 amYou have a great figure for the dress or “in” the dress. I’d wear bigger earrings, though. You need something to make it rock. Don’t love the shoes either. They’re cute, but drab with the dress.
