Flowers in the winter. Bossy always forgets how immeasurably a vase of flowers can lift her mood.
These tulips were only $4.99 at Trader Joe’s, and this is their second week in this spot. Not a bad price to pay for a smile every time Bossy spies them.
Tulips rock! Had them in my Feb wedding. Hard to find this early in the year
Trader Joe’s is the bomb!
I had those same tulips for the last couple of weeks–and even better they were a hostess gift. I absolutely agree that fresh flowers are worth every penny.
Right there with you on this one, Bossy. I have similar tulips on my table, not from Trader Joe’s and not quite as cheap, but still a bargain and still a day brightener.
Beautiful! And springy.
I got myself tulips too! And they made me smile every time I looked at them. Could be they were the only sunshine we saw in Montana in January.
Fresh flowers lift immeasurably the mood of everyone within their sphere of influence–not jus that first row of seers, as it were, but the mood transfers to the people with whom the seers come in contact. Smiles are infectious.
I splurged on hyacinths last week… ($6.99)
So gorgeous~ dark dark purple blooms and rich greens. And the scent! Mmmmmmmmm….. priceless!
thanks for sharing the smiles with your council. I really really really needed it about now!
Beautiful. I potted up some Paperwhite Narcissus during the snowstorm yesterday. Ummm… actually it was a sleet storm here in STL.
Oh how I appreciate your thoughts and observations.
That picture and Bossy’s dining room table are some of my favorite things. Can never go wrong with a bowl of fruit, flowers, and candles. All you need there is a glass of white wine and I’d be set.
My thinking is that a vase full of tulips says spring without the cost of a trip to Aruba or somewhere warm. We haven’t been able to get out because of the ice storm and the super cold temps. We just do not get this kind of winter very often. We are baffled, but do enjoy a pretty table of very nice flowers.
may I just point out that everyone “needs” to jump on the bandwagon and give Bossy their opinion about her living situation but just a few of us(as compared to the 80+) want to express appreciation for Bossy’s sharing one of life’s simple but happiest things: flowers. Just sayin’…….
so again….thanks Bossy 🙂
I love tulips especially for about 5 bucks. I wish we had Trader Joe’s in Texas. Right now, I wish we had sun. I’ve been snowed in for 4 days, and flowers would really brighten up the place right now
