MidLyfeMama would like to figure out how to throw an awesome block party. Then she gets overwhelmed by the logistics of organizing one and it never happens. Maybe Bossy could share with her esteemed council how hers gets pulled off every year. If she has already, where oh where is that post?
I want to have a block party! Only problem? We have one house, in addition to our own, on our block/cul-de-sac. At our house we have 2 elderly adults (45 & 46 the husband and myself) one young adult (20, the daughter…then the 23 year old son that still has most of his stuff in our house that moved away after he married 6 months ago and now we are going to be Grandparent’s next January…hence the “elderly” terminology:) then our neighbors who are two middle aged adults (maybe 39-40ish) with two adults in training (13-15ish, their two sons). Not to mention a gaggle (no geese here) of animals…including snakes, scorpions and cicadas….none of whom are our pets, mostly belonging to our neighbors who need to lose a few trees and brush filled areas.) We could throw in some damn cute Boston Terriers, a really cute, speckled Great Dane (who as a puppy weighs more than my Boston’s combined) and maybe a German Shepard or two. The bigger creatures are my neighbors, but we really do love them…how could you not?? Other than that, we’d have to go around the corner to recruit more for our party and that seems like a lot of work. Suggestions, please?
