This. You’re looking at sautéed steak topped with an onion-jalapeño lime sauce, and it’s the creation of Bossy’s son, a foodie who is currently a senior at Columbia University. This year his shared dorm is set up like an apartment, and it includes a nice kitchen with full-size appliances.
But what Bossy loves more than the thought of Bossy’s son cooking up a storm is the fact that Bossy and her son incessantly text each other photos of exactly what it is they’re cooking.
For instance after receiving this steak photo over the weekend, Bossy responded with a photo of her own concoction, which was sautéed chicken and shiitake mushrooms in a curried apple cream sauce, and a salad containing the last of the tomatoes from Bossy’s garden:
Bossy and Bossy’s Son make Lynda hungry with their food achievements. Please point her in the direction of a pancakes, maple syrup and peanut butter.
This is making this morning’s oatmeal look pretty dull!
One perfectly done steak as far as I’m concerned….
Would Bossy’s son like to share his onion-jalapeno lime sauce recipe over in his “notes from a far-flung correspodent?” It looks delicious!
Learning to cook while in college? Priceless.
Typo apologies. Correspondent. Time for my second cup of coffee.
Bossy – I’d love to have your recipe as well!
Thanks, p.j.
Yummy! and Yummy!
Now *that* looks scary. I think it’s the phone-photo lighting. I’m sure they were both very good though.
Wait a second – Bossy’s son, a senior in college is cooking and eating steak. Gail K. went to a prestigious University for a degree in Culinary Arts and cooked Ramen noodles.
something is weird in the universe.
Mmm … that chicken looks fab! Would Bossy consider posting the recipe?
