Back in the cave woman days I thought $1 an hour was good money. I hear the going rate is $10 an hour.
My daughter the Almost-Teacher is considering an after-school-nanny job to pay off her student loans.
Oh, Little Miss Sunshine State, I remember it well. My cousin and I scored an after school gig for a couple hours a day half a block from home. Paid two bucks an hour! We could split it and still make our usual rate. Loved that job.
Bossy’s daughter is rolling in dough. Good for her!
Where I live I get $20 hour for two kids and 15 for one regularly–and I’m 55 years old. It’s a great racket if you love little ones (and I do as my Ebay cart will easily show you!) and they are the most delightful critters on the planet. Not many people are comfortable with tiny ones and I love them the best so I’ve got a niche market here. Supplements that crappy Soc Sec they pay my retired husband.
