Bossy chews her toothbrush. It’s a secret habit, where secret equals she writes posts about it on the Internet for her daughter’s social studies teacher to read.
Chewing the indicator bristles from the toothbrush is an ugly habit that has contributed handily to Bossy’s debt, because just you try keeping Bossy in Oral Bs.
This is why Bossy was so grateful when Ultreo stepped forward and asked if Bossy would like to sample their power toothbrush:
Ultreo isn’t just a power toothbrush, it’s a power toothbrush that utilizes ultrasound waveguide technology to create 4 million cycles of bubbly ultrasound energy per brushing and come to think of it, maybe the less we know about Ultreo, the better?
The Ultreo has many neat features, including a brushing interval signal that reminds you when it’s time to move to your next quadrant of teeth, and about that? 30 seconds is a long time! It’s long enough to contemplate the possible side effects of ultrasound, and whether anyone has ever been electrocuted by sonic bristles.
Although it took some time getting used to the Ultreo, where some time equals long enough to get over the feeling that she had an immersion blender in her mouth, Bossy has grown very attached to her new brushing system.
First of all, the Ultreo makes brushing teeth a more deliberate process, which ensures that every part of the tooth gets attention. And second, because it’s more gentle than an immersion blender. And third, because it leaves you with that fresh-from-the-dentist feeling in ways that an ordinary toothbrush can’t. Especially an ordinary toothbrush whose bristles are so chewed they no longer reach between teeth. Or reach teeth in general.
So today Bossy would like to give away one Ultreo toothbrush system, which includes one brush head, the charger, and a handy travel caddy. Just leave a comment below, one per person please, and tomorrow morning Bossy will select a winner utilizing her best friend, the Random Number Generator.
Good luck! Contest closed!

November 12, 2008 at 11:20 amOh, wow. Reading your post just made me FEEL the bristles beneath my teeth, it made my saliva flow involuntarily!
Bad, bad habit!!
But on the bright side – it makes you change toothbrushes regularly!

November 12, 2008 at 11:24 amOoh, I’m intrigued. I would like to see what this toothbrush is all about. Although, I must admit, when I first read its name, I thought it said “Utero,” and that to thoughts about ultrasounds, and then Bossy wrote about ultrasounds, and I once again thought the toothbrush was named after the uterus, and does admitting this disqualify me?!

November 12, 2008 at 11:30 amI have a friend who uses the Sonicare toothbrush – does that disqualify me, to mention a competitor? She got it as a Christmas gift and was like… uh… thanks. Not. BUT once she used it, she was hooked, and started singing the praises to all her friends. Who knew a toothbrush could make such a difference?
Thanks for being our guinea pig, Bossy!!

November 12, 2008 at 11:55 amWow, if I had me one of these, I would feel a lot less guilty about not flossing…and not going to the dentist…and not paying nearly enough attention to my dental hygiene. And if I won it and, say, didn’t like it, I could try it on my horses’ teeth. They, by the way, do go to the dentist. Have you ever seen what goes on when a horse goes to the dentist? It’s kinda cool.

Hmm, now I’m imagining shoemaker hedgehogs scurrying around my mouth at night, getting all the chores done. (Oh, man, I wonder if they floss, too?)
Oh, and I brush horizontally, like in old cartoons. I don’t understand brushing vertically. Ow? And those little circles they tried to train us to do in the second grade? Too distracting! Clearly, I need a gadget intervention.. or the name of a reliable hedgehog breeder. 🙂

November 12, 2008 at 8:17 pmDear Randon Number Generator:
Could you please have mercy on someone who recently had to have a major tooth pulled due to fear of going to the dentist for 7 years? And then when she went they told her that oops, yes, you have an infection in that tooth so bad it has eaten the bone away and also you brush your teeth too hard. As in I no longer have any bristles on my toothbrush and have taken to using a power washer.
Thank you.
Also? Could you tell me what the winning lottery numbers will randomly be?

November 12, 2008 at 10:38 pmI totally like the part where it beeps every 30 seconds because I have a tendency to forget that part with my current electric toothbrush. I will just stand there and space out before finally realizing that, um, I DO, in fact, have other teeth!
Don’t judge – morning is so early!

November 13, 2008 at 12:28 amIt should be me because:
1) I comment even when you are not doing a giveaway, and
2) my two-year-old likes to tell me what my breath smells like: “Wine.” “Cookies!” “Cat poop…” (in the morning).
