Bossy hearts Netflix. No one writes letters anymore, but at least on a semi-regular basis Bossy can look forward to those cheery red and white envelopes, pushed through the mail slot like little presents in the middle of cruddy days.
So when Netflix asks Bossy to rate the movies she’s seen, Bossy complies. Anything for a red and white present-friend. Bossy never really gave it much thought that Netflix was slowly building a User Profile. Until recently.
It all began with a little known movie, Trembling Before God. Maybe it’s little known because it’s a documentary about gay Hasidic Jews. Yes there are too gay Hasidic Jews! Anyway, Bossy rated the movie four out of five stars because she felt sorry for those fellas – all standing around in their belted bekishe robes – their religious beliefs at total odds with their lifestyle.
Fast forward a few months and there was Bossy, assigning a highly favorable rating to Southern Comfort, the 2001 documentary about a female-to-male transsexual dying of Ovarian Cancer. Oh yeah, and then there was the movie about the two aging queens. Loved it.
Well. Next thing Bossy knows, Netflix was scattering suggestions around her Movie Queue along the lines of, “If you liked that movie, you’re gonna fecking love this one!” Which isn’t particularly unusual, except for the fact that every one of the suggested movies are narrated by Elton John.
That’s right, Netflix thinks Bossy is queerer than a two-dollar bill. And Bossy doesn’t care one wink as long as it means she gets first dibs on Brokeback Mountain.
This Is The Netflix Site Which Is Pure Movie Crack For The Film-Addicted.
