Should one wear very strappy shoes without hose in cold weather? What level of strappiness is acceptable?

Dear BG,
This is Tim Gunn:
And according to Tim Gunn– who Chairs the Parsons School for Design, acts as Project Runway mentor, and is totally Bossy’s favorite gay crush:
“Stockings keep legs warmer in the cold weather.”
This heady concept takes a few minutes to absorb. Bossy will wait.
Lucky for you there’s the Enchantress Toeless Pantyhose which employs special toe thong technology so your ankles remain ski-ready while your toes are jammed in the surf:
But this is Kate Spade:
And while Kate Spade thinks it’s perfectly acceptable to wear stockings with strappy shoes, her eyes bleed when contemplating toe thong technology. Instead she offers this:
“A lot of the recent runway shows featured little open-toed sandals with patterned tights. I would make sure the seam at the toe does not show.”
Of course Kate Spade became famous designing kooky handbags situated approximately 39” from the feet so what does she really know?
In terms of how much strap is too much – Bossy thinks these are a scant too much:
But considering the frost on the pumpkin, Bossy endorses these:
Bossy Is Not Even Kidding – This Brand Is Called TOHOS And They Make Even Uglier Toe Thong Thingies.

October 14, 2006 at 6:25 pmThat is hysterical!
Little Katie’s looking a little whacked in that photo up there. Too many mother’s little helpers, if you ask me.
What is *up* with those patterned tights? I wouldn’t be caught *dead* — *DEAD*, I tell you, in those things! Having the seam showing is the LEAST of my worries as far as those are concerned!
I like those boots at the bottom, too. They are totally NOT *like, ew* at all.
🙂
