Bossy’s Excellent Road Trip: On Day Fourteen Bossy Created Laguna Beach California.
Coming soon: more details about the Laguna Beach get-together and the San Diego get-together and even the Orlando get-together. Just as soon as Bossy and John Cusack meet, marry, and honeymoon.
P.S. Bossy, honey, were you aware that they CAUGHT that woman who’s been stalking YOUR HUSBAND JOHN [so to differentiate him between YOUR HUSBAND THE CUTIE BACK HOME and YOUR HUSBAND AT STARBUCKS] last week?
I figured you might have missed this important news, you being on your bloggy walkabout and all.
Bossy is making me very homesick. I miss it, and I can smell the flowers and the ocean. No worries about too much humidity or bugs.
Ok, so I don’t need Bossy to tell me it’s time for another trip back to my roots and OC grandkids.
Oh so jealous. I *heart* Orange County, republicans be damned. Looks like you are having a fantastic road trip, Bossy, but I do have one request: bring some of that sunshine back east, please!
That isn’t a real place. That’s a theme park. Elves live there. Please come to a real city like Detroit, where we don’t dust avocado mush with fairy dust, or some shit.
But Bossy, that would be bigamy. Which, I’ve heard out west, isn’t that big of a deal…
Here at Eclectically Yours, we aren’t sure we are going to ever read bossy’s blog again because we are INSANELY jealous of bossy. The Beauty, the flowers, the sheer sunshine is making us foam at the mouth in ravenous envy.
Laguna Beach does appear to be the Garden of Eden and Bossy’s photography skills are incredible.
But let’s get down to brass tacks. Here is the (Missing? Potentially Missing?) Man Count as of today:
1. Cowboy Josh – last seen strapped in the back seat of Bossy’s car in a “sleeping” bag. Likely tossed into the desert prior to Bossy’s switch to smaller, exceptionally stylish vehicle.
2. Starbucks Joe – Last seen typing e-mails to his friends and family about woman taking his photo from across the table.
ok, now I KNOW that I am stupid… I missed a LB meet-up? That’s like 5 minutes from my house! Instead I was going to try and make the LA meetup, which is 2.5 trafficky hours from my house. ARGH! 🙁
O.K., I officially hate you now. You just had to post pics of the overflowing bougainvillea and succulent avacado dishes to make me miss California. Why don’t you just rub it in already?
Must be Las Brisas guacamole. mmmmm I read but don’t comment, maybe I should do that sometime. I’m only 15 minutes from Laguna Beach, and felt, well, uh, stalkerish to try to meet up with you especially since I’m not much of a commenter. Oh well…
Oh, duh…I couldn’t have been in Laguna Beach last night anyway. I was at the Honda Center in Anaheim dancing and singing the night away with Bruuuuuce and the E Street Band. Whew.
OMG – If i had noticed you were going to Laguna Bch I would have asked you to go and take a drive-by photo of the place we lived when we were in the US (in Fen Way). Laguna Bch is a gorgeous place.
What is that on the plate? Is everyone right? Is it guacamole? I doubt the cafeteria at work today will be carrying that. I’m about to cry. Let’s blame pregnancy hormones.
OMG–I want to move in to that little cottage ( yeah right, it’s probably a several million dollar home, right?) Anyway…I love the pictures. Now I haveto go and check out California.
If you like milkshakes, you must go to the Shake Shack (on the PCH)! I haven’t been there since I was a kid in the mid 1970s–we always ordered the date shakes.
Very pretty. But, what Bossy isn’t showing is the bumper to bumper traffic along PCH, and just the general congestion that is So Cal. Sorry, I live the fantasy, and it’s not all bougainvillea and guac.
Seriously Bossy, are you trying to make me lose my mind with all of these beautiful colors and that amazing looking avocado thing? Don’t you remember that most of us are still living in muddy, dead grass, no leaf places where it could possibly snow this weekend. At lease we get to live vicariously through you on this trip. And of course we haven’t lost any sunglasses on our vicarious trip.
Ah! I didn’t know you were going to be in Laguna Beach! You were five minutes down Pacific Coast highway from me, here in Corona del Mar! So glad you got to experience the beauty of Laguna Beach! 🙂
The word I thought of when I saw these pictures was “lush”. Which, strangely enough, is the same word I thought of when I saw Bossy’s pictures of her bloggy friends. 😉
OMG – what IS that beautiful avocado creation?
Holy shet. I live in Hawai`i and I am DROOLING OVER LAGUNA BEACH. Teh gorgeous!
Is that *wiping spittle away* guacamole??
Holy crap I’m moving. YUM. Those flowers are so beautiful they almost look edible, too.

I think I’m packing up and moving there tomorrow. How beautiful and unlike any picture of California I’ve ever had in my head.
I lived in Costa Mesa for many years. It’s just up the street, so to speak, to Laguna Beach, so these pictures make me a little homesick…
That third photo was outstanding.
So, this is the first thing I read AFTER trying to make guacamole for the first time…I should have just flown to California to order some.
Oh so jealous. I *heart* Orange County, republicans be damned. Looks like you are having a fantastic road trip, Bossy, but I do have one request: bring some of that sunshine back east, please!
You were very thorough by adding a picture of guacamole! We put avocados in everything out here. Can’t wait to meet you tonight!
oh sweet jeebus! it’s GAW-JUS (say it out loud and you’ll sound just like me)
That isn’t a real place. That’s a theme park. Elves live there. Please come to a real city like Detroit, where we don’t dust avocado mush with fairy dust, or some shit.
Okay.. now I am just a tiny bit jealous! That is a beautiful place!
I think you need to come experience some Pennsylvania MUD! 😀
Springtime in Laguna – so beautiful. Photos are out of this world. How’s the food?
I’m sorry. John Cusack and i have been secretly married since 1989. Don’t tell my husband. oh, go ahead. he’d be OK with it, he’s a fan too.
Thanks so much for posting these photos while I’m trying to be happy in Dallas. Sigh.
Must. Get. Home.
Have fun in LA!
G O R G E O U S ! ! !
The beauty overwhelms… I want to be a Laguna Beach Desperate/Real Housewife…
Can’t wait to read the stories you have brewin’ =)
Stepher
And on day 15 Bossy sent bb a ticket and invited her to join her.
Bossy does nice work. Can she do my landscape design next?
Well that looks WELL worth the trip. Gorgeous! Can’t wait for the details.
If you are still in Laguna, go see the Witches House in the North end of town. It is a darling lopsided cottage – hope it didn’t fall down by now.
I luuuuuuuuuuurve Laguna Beach. In my younger I-love-wearing-a-bikini-days, I spent many hours prancing around that boardwalk.
There it is! The place where I was REALLY supposed to live.
Oh, that’s guacamole? For a minute there I thought Bossy had run over a frog. NOW it looks tasty!
But Bossy, that would be bigamy. Which, I’ve heard out west, isn’t that big of a deal…

Holy Cow, that’s gorgeous stuff! WOW!
And that Guacamole looks DIVINE!
MUST move to Laguna beach. Pronto.

3. John Cusack – Um, need I say more?
That’s so pretty. But, really, you can do better than John C.
ok, now I KNOW that I am stupid… I missed a LB meet-up? That’s like 5 minutes from my house! Instead I was going to try and make the LA meetup, which is 2.5 trafficky hours from my house. ARGH! 🙁
Damn. Damn. Damn.
Beautiful pictures!
Well then. Our mountain of tater tots seems little, you know…DELCO compared to the avocado sculpture.
I am very thankful to Bossy for creating Laguna Beach.
I do believe I’m heading to the store for some avocados now. Neeeeeeed some!
Bossy and I may need to throw down re: John Cusack!
Bossy and I may need to throw down re: John Cusack!
Bossy.
Your pictures are…
DIFFERENT.
And [still] so BEAUTIFUL.
That must be where all the cool, guacamole-eatin’ kids are hanging out. I bet that alone was worth the drive!
Of course now, you gotta drive East…
Dang.. It’s 43 degrees here.. Snowed last night…
I so wish I was on Bossy’s excellent adventure..
I’ve been living in the wrong state all my life. Gorgeous pics!
O.K., I officially hate you now. You just had to post pics of the overflowing bougainvillea and succulent avacado dishes to make me miss California. Why don’t you just rub it in already?

you let the secret that is California coastal living….
i can’t tell you how much i miss Carmel…WHY did i leave???????????????
please enjoy!!!! I think bossy’s son should transfer to Stanford so you can visit him ….. just sayin’
How beautiful. Do people actually live in such places???
What on earth am I doing in Wisconsin???
Oh, duh…I couldn’t have been in Laguna Beach last night anyway. I was at the Honda Center in Anaheim dancing and singing the night away with Bruuuuuce and the E Street Band. Whew.
Damn, that guacamoli looks beautiful.
OMG – If i had noticed you were going to Laguna Bch I would have asked you to go and take a drive-by photo of the place we lived when we were in the US (in Fen Way). Laguna Bch is a gorgeous place.
Bossy is most certainly in California.
Heavenly.
Oh my god. Is that heaven? Are you sending photographs back from the pearly gates?
Are you sure you want to come here to Chicago? It’s still cold here and we certainly don’t have flowers like that.
I want to move to Laguna Beach, right now! I want a house with beautiful gardens like those! Of course, said house must come complete with gardener. 🙂
Wonderful pictures, Bossy!
That’s exactly why I have always wanted to live in California! Gorgeous photos Bossy-I am jealous.
It looks gorgeous.
Gaw-geous. But, as a native of SoCal, I should point out: even the smallest of those cute little cottages in Laguna costs like, a gazillion dollars.
Laguna was our fav when we lived in LaLa Land a couple decades ago. Love the gate in photo 3, sigh!
Oh, to live someplace with a soul….
what I wouldn’t give…I’d even give up my doggie Mr. Lootiatto….bossys mom
Such colors! What gorgeousness. I want to there….
Just wow. The colors, the flowers, all so beautiful. I think I’m ready for a move!
I’m actually crying a little because I don’t think there is a shot in hell I will ever live some place so persistently summery.
Laguna Beach and Leucadia, two of my most favorite beach towns EVER! Thank you for bringing ‘home’ to me!
Wow…how pretty. Love that “cottage” garden!
You do know that avocado got it’s name because it looks like a testicle, right?
What is that on the plate? Is everyone right? Is it guacamole? I doubt the cafeteria at work today will be carrying that. I’m about to cry. Let’s blame pregnancy hormones.
Well, that little Hobbit door settled it. I am moving to Laguna Beach, stat.
Just as soon as I come into a whole shitload of money.
I want to move there now!!!!! Your trip is awesome~
and to meet so many cool people!
Great pix, too~
honey, just be careful that your man doesn’t put a restraining order on you. you know how crazy they get, those men.
In what garden was the guacamole growing? And what an interesting planter they had it in!
Tell me again why I live in New England???
Man I miss California.
I’m sorry, but Cusak’s mine. Or at least in my dreams, he is.
Gorgeous pics.
OMG–I want to move in to that little cottage ( yeah right, it’s probably a several million dollar home, right?) Anyway…I love the pictures. Now I haveto go and check out California.
Bossy — You’re a great photographer. Laguna is one of my favorite places in the world, and now everyone knows why.
So great meeting you yesterday in L.A.!
If you like milkshakes, you must go to the Shake Shack (on the PCH)! I haven’t been there since I was a kid in the mid 1970s–we always ordered the date shakes.
Gotta plant me some bougainvillia this summer. Of course on a trillion dollar cottage it’s gorgeous and charming; on a hovel it’ll look like a weed.
Very pretty. But, what Bossy isn’t showing is the bumper to bumper traffic along PCH, and just the general congestion that is So Cal. Sorry, I live the fantasy, and it’s not all bougainvillea and guac.
BOSSY finally made VDog miss SoCal.
Nice work, lady.
(And fabulous photos.)

Not real. Sorry. Just don’t believe it.
Because if I did, this grey, rainy, chilly Vermont day might kind of suck.
Ah! I didn’t know you were going to be in Laguna Beach! You were five minutes down Pacific Coast highway from me, here in Corona del Mar! So glad you got to experience the beauty of Laguna Beach! 🙂
My allergies are acting up looking at all those flowers…
Loves me some guac!
