Gifts that don’t cost anything.
The other night Bossy went to a friend’s birthday party, and his wife had situated this basket in the middle of the flow of party guests. The basket was full of pens and empty slips of paper, and the attached sign encouraged everyone to write down what they liked about the birthday boy.
Bossy stood by this basket and the more she drank, the more slips of paper she filled out. That’s nothing — Bossy’s friend Andy tucked a barbeque rib (half eaten) inside his note which said something along the lines of, “I like you because you’re fastidious.”
The party hostess mentioned that she also puts this basket out at thanksgiving and encourages her guests to fill it with descriptions of why they’re thankful. Which is a pretty good idea, as long as you don’t invite Andy for turkey dinner.
I love this idea!
I have heard of teachers doing this and have thought how every person could use the positive karma and the jokes!
Good morning to you Bossy & family!
What a cool idea! Compliments are probably the best gifts anyone can give or receive.
Hey I have a husband named
