Hmmmm. Certainly more respectable than that cute little powdered-donut thing you should us last snowstorm … but I’m about to go dig us out of a 15-inch drubbing. And “No School” ’round these parts means a stir-crazy 3-year-old and 5-year-old making my wife and I want to lock ourselves in a closet. What I’m saying is: SEND HELP! PLEASE!
We had about an inch Sunday morning, which was all gone by noon. Everyone at work and school today. Can’t help but think a long weekend would have been nice.
Be sure to impress upon Daughter of Bossy that unless she grows up to be a Public School teacher, these are the only snow days she will ever have, and to enjoy them while they last.
yeah…. Good Luck with that. We got ours this weekend and finally got to pull out the snow fort building tools and sleds. Good times. But now I’m ready for summer to start arriving. Enough of the cold.
okay…okay…I’m feeling a little bit better about all those spring photos bossy was showing to make me jealous. We’re getting 10 inches here….and the flu.
You have no idea how jealous I am of your snow. It’s going to be 90 degrees here today. On March 2nd. That’s summer everywhere else, but it’s our frickin’ winter. I’d even sacrifice having the kids home if I could have snow. Please send me some. Just address it to Shelley in Phoenix, AZ. They know where I am.
What a beautiful snow day, Bossy and family!
We enjoyed all of six flakes on Saturday morning.
I couldn’t fall asleep last night, jealously thinking about how beautiful the views must be up in Morningside Heights.
Does Bossy’s son have boots? Is it way uncool to wear boots?
p.j.’s son has refused to acquire any. Yesterday he said he would be fine in his shoes. A wee part of me wants him to be sorry that he refused my winter break offers to buy him a pair in his new and improved foot size.
Boys. Love ’em, and can’t wait for spring break!
Enjoy the beauty, p.j.
As far as I know, my college doesn’t give snow days, which is a major bummer. I’ve never had one in my life living in AZ, and now that I finally live in Canada, I’m too “grown up” to get one.
Loved a good snow day growing up! Two years after we moved to Colorado, my daughter experienced her first ever snow day (she was in the eighth grade) ….turned out to be a week, she had a snow week!!
One can feel the enthusiasm written into that note! Hooray for snow days. It’s snowed here in Austin about 2 times in the 9 years I’ve lived here, and it melts on contact because we live on the surface of the SUN.
I’m totally envious of your snow and my friend Melli who lives in Maryland got a lot more snow than ya’ll did. I’m envious of her snow, too. We got wind before you all got snow. Just dry here.
I have to agree with Helen+ilana=Hi. That is NOTHING! I can’t believe you guys got a break for that wimpy amount of snow. I dare you to move to Cleveland, Ohio. Double… no, triple-dog dare you. How many inches is that? Three? I can still see car tires.
Normally I’d be envious over the snow, but it’s March now, and even here in California, I’m a little tired of winter. I’m grateful we’re having 68-degree days. I’m ready for spring!
Hi Bossy ! Wow – those pics make me wanna jump right in!! I even want to sit on your porch in those snow-covered chairs! But I’m truly out of touch with snow – I haven’t been IN it for over a year and yesterday my kids were in our yard naked in our little blow-up pool.
But I’m headed to Jackson Hole tomorrow and I will see SNOW!! Yippee!
We got about 7-10″ in NYC. I took the day off to play in Central Park. I am like a child when it snows. NYC is so beautiful blanketed in snow – then the dogs come . . . . . .
THAT is SO NOT WORTHY of a snow day!!! We get that much almost every single day in the winter, and that’s not to even mention the 4+ feet that have been hanging out in the front yard since October. Sheesh.
Actually it was quite refreshing to see someone else get dumped on for a change. Where I am we are soooooo close to breaking the all time record of snowfall for the year!Whew! Some serious snow shoveling has been going on around here since November.
All we have here in SF is rain, rain, sucky sucky rain. I teach college in CA, and I guess we get earthquake days and school shooting days. Not the same.
these pictures are great! i had school canceled here (brooklyn, NY) and i couldn’t have been more excited. i wish i had gone out and taken pictures though.
