Daddy Scratches saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:14 am
Hmmmm. Certainly more respectable than that cute little powdered-donut thing you should us last snowstorm … but I’m about to go dig us out of a 15-inch drubbing. And “No School” ’round these parts means a stir-crazy 3-year-old and 5-year-old making my wife and I want to lock ourselves in a closet. What I’m saying is: SEND HELP! PLEASE!
Keetha saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:19 am
We had about an inch Sunday morning, which was all gone by noon. Everyone at work and school today. Can’t help but think a long weekend would have been nice.
Unemployed Susan saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:37 am
My snow day is being postponed until I remove the inch of water in my basement. Note; don’t run the washing machine just before bed.
corrie saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:39 am
Wow … that’s some snow there! Have fun on your day all at home together!
joeinvegas saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:43 am
Fruit trees are starting to bloom out here.
Little Miss Sunshine State saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:50 am
I feel bad for the poor Adirondack Chair cushions.
Sounds like it’s a good day to make a pot of chicken soup.
Bossy's friend Amy saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:55 am
WOOHOO SNOW DAY!!!!!
Stacy saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:57 am
Can’t show that picture to my 11 year old, from Texas that looks like heaven! (It will be 83 here later in the week)
David saysMarch 2, 2009 at 12:00 pm
Be sure to impress upon Daughter of Bossy that unless she grows up to be a Public School teacher, these are the only snow days she will ever have, and to enjoy them while they last.
Tiffany saysMarch 2, 2009 at 12:01 pm
We managed to miss the snow, but it was cold here this morning I felt like I had an ice cream headache by the time I made it to my office!
Twenty Four At Heart saysMarch 2, 2009 at 12:18 pm
Wow! I spent the weekend at the beach and trying to convince myself NOT to use the a/c. (Saving money, being green). Your pics are beautiful though!
Stacey Ball saysMarch 2, 2009 at 12:22 pm
Oh how I want to run around and add footprints to all those pictures! Looks billowy and fun!
SD's Husband saysMarch 2, 2009 at 12:40 pm
yeah…. Good Luck with that. We got ours this weekend and finally got to pull out the snow fort building tools and sleds. Good times. But now I’m ready for summer to start arriving. Enough of the cold.
Me saysMarch 2, 2009 at 12:46 pm
I’m jealous. I actually prayed Saturday night that we’d have snow Sunday and Snow Days today and tomorrow.
My parents and both sisters got snow, but my brother and I just got rain.
My son is five, and he needs a good Snow Day.
Maria saysMarch 2, 2009 at 12:53 pm
okay…okay…I’m feeling a little bit better about all those spring photos bossy was showing to make me jealous. We’re getting 10 inches here….and the flu.
Shelley saysMarch 2, 2009 at 12:55 pm
You have no idea how jealous I am of your snow. It’s going to be 90 degrees here today. On March 2nd. That’s summer everywhere else, but it’s our frickin’ winter. I’d even sacrifice having the kids home if I could have snow. Please send me some. Just address it to Shelley in Phoenix, AZ. They know where I am.
Domestic Goddess (in training) saysMarch 2, 2009 at 12:56 pm
Betta’ you than me… that’s all I’m sayin’. Betta’ you than me!
Cristin saysMarch 2, 2009 at 1:30 pm
That doesn’t qualify as a snow day where I’m from!
p.j. saysMarch 2, 2009 at 1:35 pm
What a beautiful snow day, Bossy and family!
We enjoyed all of six flakes on Saturday morning.
I couldn’t fall asleep last night, jealously thinking about how beautiful the views must be up in Morningside Heights.
Does Bossy’s son have boots? Is it way uncool to wear boots?
p.j.’s son has refused to acquire any. Yesterday he said he would be fine in his shoes. A wee part of me wants him to be sorry that he refused my winter break offers to buy him a pair in his new and improved foot size.
Boys. Love ’em, and can’t wait for spring break!
Enjoy the beauty, p.j.
Camille saysMarch 2, 2009 at 1:37 pm
As far as I know, my college doesn’t give snow days, which is a major bummer. I’ve never had one in my life living in AZ, and now that I finally live in Canada, I’m too “grown up” to get one.
Kelly at The Glass Dragonfly saysMarch 2, 2009 at 1:45 pm
Loved a good snow day growing up! Two years after we moved to Colorado, my daughter experienced her first ever snow day (she was in the eighth grade) ….turned out to be a week, she had a snow week!!
I don’t want to experience THAT ever again!
Grandma J saysMarch 2, 2009 at 2:05 pm
Did Bossy cover up the bulb shoots that she showed us last week?
BodaciousGirl saysMarch 2, 2009 at 2:05 pm
Know what is so funny bossy m’dear? Your Adirondack chairs made my post for today! My 91 degree post… about sherbet… Lemon Sherbet / Sorbet.
Catherine McP saysMarch 2, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I’m with Shelley in Phoenix, she gets half and me, Catherine in Cave Creek AZ gets the other half..90 degrees today, ugh.
reen saysMarch 2, 2009 at 2:22 pm
One can feel the enthusiasm written into that note! Hooray for snow days. It’s snowed here in Austin about 2 times in the 9 years I’ve lived here, and it melts on contact because we live on the surface of the SUN.
I really really love the photos you take, Bossy!
Ms. Cranky Pants saysMarch 2, 2009 at 2:30 pm
To show my undying support for Bossy, I will take a sympathy-pain Snow Day here in California.
Amber Star saysMarch 2, 2009 at 2:59 pm
I’m totally envious of your snow and my friend Melli who lives in Maryland got a lot more snow than ya’ll did. I’m envious of her snow, too. We got wind before you all got snow. Just dry here.
Helen+ilana=Hi saysMarch 2, 2009 at 3:38 pm
No school for that amount of snow?????????????? Where are you Vancouver????????
NaysWay saysMarch 2, 2009 at 4:22 pm
I have to agree with Helen+ilana=Hi. That is NOTHING! I can’t believe you guys got a break for that wimpy amount of snow. I dare you to move to Cleveland, Ohio. Double… no, triple-dog dare you. How many inches is that? Three? I can still see car tires.
abby saysMarch 2, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Did you leave that little note for your daughter to find? To save her the harassing trouble of getting ready for school?
Mine would have let me walk all the way to the bus stop before she told me, just to make sure I was actually up and awake 😛
Adorable Girlfriend saysMarch 2, 2009 at 4:49 pm
AG hoofed it into work.
This is not FL people! There was a time snow like this wouldn’t even make a person think twice!
Bush Babe of Granite Glen saysMarch 2, 2009 at 5:06 pm
Gosh that’s purty!! And yes I realise it’s probably uncomfortably cold Bossy, but still, soooo purty…
Hot and humid can be purty too… in a different, less cake-icing kinda way. I posted ’bout it yesterday…
Bush Babe of Granite Glen saysMarch 2, 2009 at 5:09 pm
PS I love how you guys make it a competition about when snow cancels school!!! You Yanks!!
Baby Favorite saysMarch 2, 2009 at 5:10 pm
Normally I’d be envious over the snow, but it’s March now, and even here in California, I’m a little tired of winter. I’m grateful we’re having 68-degree days. I’m ready for spring!
Lee of MWOB saysMarch 2, 2009 at 5:21 pm
Hi Bossy ! Wow – those pics make me wanna jump right in!! I even want to sit on your porch in those snow-covered chairs! But I’m truly out of touch with snow – I haven’t been IN it for over a year and yesterday my kids were in our yard naked in our little blow-up pool.
But I’m headed to Jackson Hole tomorrow and I will see SNOW!! Yippee!
Kelley saysMarch 2, 2009 at 5:58 pm
We have the same thing here.
But instead of snow. You need to set everything on fire.
Kids of the world rejoice!
Gabrielle Angel saysMarch 2, 2009 at 6:40 pm
We got about 7-10″ in NYC. I took the day off to play in Central Park. I am like a child when it snows. NYC is so beautiful blanketed in snow – then the dogs come . . . . . .
Cheri @ Blog This Mom! saysMarch 2, 2009 at 6:49 pm
I will leave you the same comment I left on my friend Janet’s blog: We only have no school days in San Diego when we catch on fire. Le sigh.
Kathryn saysMarch 2, 2009 at 7:16 pm
THAT is SO NOT WORTHY of a snow day!!! We get that much almost every single day in the winter, and that’s not to even mention the 4+ feet that have been hanging out in the front yard since October. Sheesh.
zelzee saysMarch 2, 2009 at 7:27 pm
Actually it was quite refreshing to see someone else get dumped on for a change. Where I am we are soooooo close to breaking the all time record of snowfall for the year!Whew! Some serious snow shoveling has been going on around here since November.
Martha saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:34 pm
BRRRRRR I don’t miss it, but you do make it look beautiful with your photos!
Beth saysMarch 2, 2009 at 11:54 pm
All we have here in SF is rain, rain, sucky sucky rain. I teach college in CA, and I guess we get earthquake days and school shooting days. Not the same.
stephanie saysMarch 3, 2009 at 1:59 am
these pictures are great! i had school canceled here (brooklyn, NY) and i couldn’t have been more excited. i wish i had gone out and taken pictures though.
The Domestic Goddess saysMarch 3, 2009 at 10:56 am
Dood. And it was fun snow.
