The other night Bossy rented the 2008 release Ghost Town. The movie begins with a title and stuff. And actors.
Greg Kinnear plays a man. He is on the phone. He does other stuff too. For approximately one hour and 42 minutes.
Bossy’s husband Ricky Gervais plays a man with a British accent. He wears a lot of white. He sometimes wears other colors, though.
Kristen Wiig plays a closet lesbian news anchor. On Saturday Night Live. Here she is not that, but she is still nervous as a cat in a bag.
And then in the beginning or the middle or the end of Ghost Town, Greg Kinnear and Bossy’s husband Ricky Gervais meet. And they meet having something to do with her:
Téa Leoni plays a woman. A cute cute cute gah how can they make them this cute woman. She is very convincing as a cute woman.
Bossy didn’t catch this guy’s name, but he plays a divorced guy with kids. On a cancelled TV show from the 90s. And in that show, he falls in love with a divorced woman with kids but the two of them were always too busy dropping the telephone from their shoulders and cleaning up spilled cereal to spend much time together. Bossy’s mom doesn’t like his upturned nose.
And these people are character actors. Some of them got paid extra to speak. One of them may or may not have been nude.
In Bossy’s humble opinion, Ghost Town gets five stars, two thumbs up, and one actor’s upturned nose. Rent today!
Gah! You spoiled it for me when you said your husband Ricky Gervais has a British accent. Now what’s the use in watching it?
Does Bossy rent her movie at Redbox to save money? If not she most def should!!
Ricky Gervais and his gagging….cracks me up!
Oh, now Bossy’s friend Martha went and spoiled everything.
That’s one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a while. The scene you show with Ricky Gervais and Kristen Wiig had me laughing so hard I had to back up the movie because I missed some of the dialogue after. So many good lines / good characters. 5 stars and all thumbs up!
Bill Campbell. MidLifeMama first fell in love with his upturned nose in “Rocketeer”.
I loved this movie! The conversations with Kristen Wiig were hilarious!
I reviewed this movie. You did a much better job. Don’t hate me but I hope the people that send me movies to review don’t read this post or I’ll be out of a job
“Only floss the teeth you want to keep”!
Oh my gosh…the great dane and the gagging….
almost peed my pants.
I liked it very well.
I laughed. I cried. I wrote down quotes.
What happens matters.

We were wondering if that is Jackie Beauvoir Kennedy Onassis in a nurses uniform in the last picture. To the middle left. Cause it looks like it. And the movie is called Ghost Town.
GhostTown looks better than my last pick of……..can’t remember the name……something about dating/nudity/drinking/beaches/bikinis/threesomes/lust/aliens/sawed off shotguns/everyone dies in the end…………..
Oh wait, I think that’s every movie thats out there!
We watched it expecting the worst for some reason. We were surprised and quite liked it.
….sorry…
i have to wonder…
how many husbands does bossy have???
lol
(i’m all stuck on George CLooney – who’s the hottie of the hotties!)
what show in the 90s was he in? because i might want to rent that.
Maria/10 — The nurse on the left looks like Judy Garland to me. Except it can’t be, she’s dead.
Just added this to my netflix list. Which is already so long as to keep me (us) occupied for the next several centuries. Thanks for the review!
The naked character actor looks like a young Stephen King. If Stephen King ever smiled.
I agree with you Bossy! Ghost Town was excellent. A movie with a message.
I loved this movie. Your review made me love it even more.
Looks like it’s time to clean the oatmeal out of my movie player thingy and rent a movie.
Ohhh… Tea Leoni. Ai chihuahua. I didn’t know she was in this! I’ve *loved* her since I watched Flirting with Disaster years ago.
I know what we’re watching on movies on demand this weekend!
There are a lot of people in that picture. It doesn’t look much like a Ghost Town to me.
You put two thumbs up that guy’s upturned nose? Wait… what?
I fluffy pink heart Ricky Gervais too. BBC The Office = true love.
I just moved it to the top of my Netfix queue!
Never heard of it. But I do love Greg Kinnear. I’m watching Bond, James Bond tonight. We’ll see if I catch a single word of dialogue.
I like to be married to a funny man, and Ricky Gevais is very funny, but not funny enough to make up for his looks. Or lack of looks.
I most surely will, BOSSY! Thanks for the review!
See — I knew you would like that movie!
Tea Leoni may do cute well, but she’s no Bossy.
Billy Campbell, and the show was Once and Again – LOVED that show!!!!!
I adored this movie. When Ricky’s at Tea’s house and her dog is all panting in his face and she sprays the room freshener and he’s all retching, I fell off the couch.
And how could David Duchovny have cheated on her, that bastard (who I still kind of love anyway, the jerk).
Listen, sister, you just back AWAY from my husband. Ricky is MINE, and always has been. Him, and Viggo Mortenson and Gerard Butler. Just call me Big (Girl) Love.
Bossy’s husband is Ricky Gervais? You’re having a laugh!
…which only works if you’ve seen Extras.
What is this thing you call a movie? Around here, the name for the television viewing area is called Ghost Town.
Once and Again! That show was called Once and Again and it was my PASSION for quite some time until it got dumped. It also starred Sela Ward who is my sister’s arch enemy for unexplained reasons because they have never met.
I’m waiting for the book.
Not only was it a great movie, it had great background music too.
I love Ricky’s teeth……..when he smiles and you see that cute little crooked one…… um what were talking about………….oh yeah right …………..he was screamingly funny. Can I give GhostTown more stars like say 9….. no…………….okay then the 5 have to be really ones! ***** (use yer ‘magination)
Love a bossy dame. I’ll have to re-rent it because 10 minutes into it, I couldn’t get into it.
Is that Ann Coulter? I absolutely can’t watch it if HE’S in it.
oh i loved it too! i’ve watched it 5 times now and laugh every time.
Best movie review ever.
RIcky and Wiig…. how can it not be good??
