I used to live where we could walk to buy stuff. It was a convenience store, and boy was it convenient. Like the time everything flooded almost into the house, and we had to make an emergency trip, wading knee deep: beer for us, milk for the neighbors.
Thank goodness for Danes – not only are they health-ful additions to the household, they are endless entertainment in themselves. Even if they are the biggest scairdy-cats around:
BJ’s sells a tub of tollhouse cookie mix. I keep it on hand at all times.
Bossy’s Dane isn’t just Great, she knows how to lead the way.
Four very different gaits.
Every recent picture I see of Bossy’s surroundings the ground is wet. Is Bossy living in a rain forest?
That’s a whole lotta’ legs.
I wish I lived on a shiney street like Bossy
On their way? From the bag in Bossy’s husband’s hand, it looks like they are on their way back. Recycling, maybe?
Looks like neighbor toughs looking for trouble
I need me a great dane.
Stella, totally keeping an eye on the humans and ensuring they don’t fall behind!

Returning library books by the dozen
Ah, library books. I was wondering. Because dear BH looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.
Oh Bossy! I hope you are making the cookies from scratch. See this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090619/ap_on_re_us/us_nestle_recall
Nestle cookie dough is being recalled for making people sick when eaten raw!!!
Bossy’s Dane isn’t just Great, she knows where to find the cookie dough!

PS I’d take my Dane for a walk to get cookie dough – but the 100km round trip kinda puts me off.
That is my kind of family portrait.
Good poverty party move: books from library rather than Borders.
Um, Stella, do we need to stage an intervention for your obvious eating disorder?
I love the magical numerous trees I get to see on Bossy’s blog almost as much as I love Bossy’s hilarious everything else on her blog.
I thought it was an Abby Road cover
