Bossy,
I am glad you had great weather (mostly, sort of) for your vacation by the shores of Lake Champlain. And that Bossy’s son and his gf got to come up too.
I miss Vermont, her cows, her flowers, the feel and smell of summer mornings, her lake, and those amazing sunsets. Ahh.
Thanks for sharing your vacation with those of us who don’t get to go!

That is a tractor crossing sign. It would be a little different if there was a cows crossing sign…cuz sonetimes there are steers in the herd. Just thought to educate a bit.
In Texas we have lots of tractor crossing signs and it is so aggravating to get behind one on a two lane road, and worse on a one lane…and we have unpaved one lane “paths” in Texas.
I enjoyed your vacation very much. Looks like we will be staying home tending the in laws. My husband was flabbergasted when he stopped by to leave something over there this morning and found his dad eating soup out of a can, cold. They had already had sausage and eggs and toast for breakfast. (I have NO idea how their cholesterol levels are perfect all the time.) It is a daily surprise what they might do each day, and they refuse to leave their home and go to assisted living. I guess that is enough whining out of me for a long time.
Oh yes….if they say they do not wish to go there is no way to make them. I guess that is to keep men from committing their “old” wives to mental hospitals while they go out looking for more compliant women. When I was working, a LONG, time ago that could still happen. A guy was trying to “hit” on me and told me that was where his wife was. It didn’t take me longer than a nano sec to leave the break room.
Amber Star: Are there any adult day centers or adult day clubs in your area? Your in laws might be interested in something like that. It gives them structure during the day but they still live in their own home.
