I like these when served up steaming in a bowl on Whidbey Island, but otherwise they remind me of the masses o’ mussels that congregate on piers and I wonder if they’re full of mercury. Because maybe water doesn’t flush out of our harbor well enough.
Enjoyed all the perky enthusiastic comments suddenly jarred to an abrupt halt by David’s “yuck.”
