Bossy has always mourned her kids’ first day of school because, bottom line, her son and daughter are super fun to hang around and no trouble at all.
Click here to see Bossy’s daughter on the first day of school last year. Bossy thinks her face really matured in a year.

September 8, 2009 at 8:23 amI have always dreaded the first day of school. I hate being on someone else’s schedule; I love summer and the notion that the day belongs to us and no one else — and I’m like Bossy: I think my urchins are great fun to be around. I couldn’t ask for better companions.
So I’m a little mopey today.

September 8, 2009 at 8:55 amShe is so growing up into a teenager. Of course, it’s a cruel joke of nature that daughters generally hit puberty about the same time as mothers hit menopause. Especially for those of us who get trapped in the middle.

September 8, 2009 at 9:05 amI’m sad one of them went back. We had a good summer today, snuggled a lot, took naps together, read together. It was nice having him as my constant companion!
