Welcome to the (No) Book Tour Countdown, where Bossy will — and this is a stretch — count down the days until she leaves on her (No) Book Tour. Assuming it happens. Bossy will use this space to detail what she’s up to as she plans, organizes, and collapses in fits. Shall we?
As best Bossy can judge, considering the weather patterns across the continental United States, Bossy will once again embark on her cross-country road trip at the end of March and into April. This is the perfect time because the south isn’t too hot and the north isn’t too cold and the east isn’t too snowy and the west isn’t too… whatever it is the west does.
According to this very scientific calculation, Bossy has about 66 days to prepare for her trip, which is approximately one year shy of enough time.
In this light, Bossy spent the day answering the first of the emails to fill her inbox, which was stacked with enthusiastic bloggers and readers signing up to be a part of the (No) Book Tour, and about the name of this thing, a word of advice: Never try to work a parenthesis into anything you’re going to have to type a bazillion times a minute because it just sucks the will to live right out of you.
Anyway, there Bossy sat answering emails, and in the process Bossy sent those people who signed up a questionnaire which contains questions. Bossy thinks the idea of a questionnaire is very off-putting to people, but Bossy promises you, she’s not using your banking information in any meaningful way. Heh.
Silly Bossy! Banking information wasn’t one of the questions! Bossy simply needs to know basic facts like name, and city/state, and which days you aren’t home and which first floor windows are unlocked. Heh.
Where were we? Emails, 66 days, grand larceny, right. Check back within the next couple of days for the next heart attack countdown installment.

January 19, 2010 at 10:21 amIn March and April, the west does wind, and it does it very well, I might add. Just think of the stories you’ll be able to tell about your fuel-efficient car being blown across the Continental Divide, and bad hair days, and permanently chapped lips.

January 20, 2010 at 2:05 amAimee wants Bossy to know that she gets a little thrill every time Bossy shows up in her comments section.
And about simplifying down to a tent…
Bossy would have to do just that if she came to visit The Family… either that or take on the filthy (and I mean filthy) fur beasts for the sofa…
Heh.
😉

January 21, 2010 at 1:28 pmbossy, you have to come to the West and find out what it does in the spring/summer. Even if I’m not here. Find somebody to take you to Crater Lake. And the Pacific coast. seriously.

January 21, 2010 at 3:06 pmIn late March/early April the West does GREEN. For about ten minutes. Then it’s brown, brown, brown until November. Come enjoy the green with us. And the wind. There will be wine and green olives . . .

January 21, 2010 at 7:11 pmTyping parentheses a bazillion times is damnedly difficult; but copying and pasting a block of text that *contains* parentheses (and then modifying those pieces that need to be personalized) is infinitely easier.
