Welcome to Bossy’s Ear Worm, which features songs currently in Bossy’s headphones. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
OK Go, While You Were Asleep.
Sometimes Bossy just likes a broody tune. Especially one she finds while streaming free music on the internet. It’s like a gift. This song, from Chicago band OK Go, is off their newest 2010 record, Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky.
Not much to say about this one. Bossy loves it’s sloggy dream nature brought by the deftness of layered electronica — and who doesn’t love a good clap track? Still, at its core, it’s almost a Simon & Garfunkel tune.
Bossy also appreciates how the tune, about unrequited love, resolves in chaotic anger. Almost like a monster movie.

January 28, 2010 at 12:36 pmThere are some really great songs on here. Personally I love “This Too Shall Pass”. They did a marching band video for it and you can get that recording for free on their website: http://www.okgo.net.
