Bossy’s mom’s kitchen.
Bossy has featured this modest yet magical room before.
Recently Bossy’s mom decided to give her kitchen a little facelift, and so the first thing she did was hire her two favorite painters, where hire equals I brought your asses into this world and I can take you out!
And then Bossy’s mom buggered off to Ikea where she bought the one piece of kitchen cabinetry which will serve as an extra work station, especially when preparing homemade pasta, because of course preparing homemade pasta was on the New Year’s resolution list.
Bossy will keep you posted.

January 29, 2010 at 9:07 amThat is a lovely sunshiney corner now! Love the little door above on the left… is it an antique medicine cabinet?

January 29, 2010 at 9:09 amP.S. Yes Maria, very kind! Also kind of her two favorite kids not to point out the expansive work area totally suitable and available for pasta prep which is featured in the foreground of the last pic!

I MUST KNOW THE SECRET BOSSY’S MOM!!!

January 29, 2010 at 12:34 pmtuli….didn’t care about ruining the finish….but the update is:
I just painted over the whole thing with a primer then appliance paint. Totally brilliant outcome. It was fast and easy, I fully recommend it….

January 29, 2010 at 1:19 pmWhat a darling kitchen! And I LOVE the prep table from Ikea. What is the thing right above the table that appears to be holding kitchen staples and where can I get one of those?

January 29, 2010 at 5:05 pmOK maybe Bossy’s mom should NOT go on Bossy’s roadtrip. Because in that kitchen I’m sure she will be happy to stay home and make pasta sauce. Nice job

January 29, 2010 at 10:11 pmI come here for the wit and wisdom primarily although I must admit the aesthetics are tip top. Bossy’s mom’s kitchen exudes warmth and makes me want to retile my floor.

January 30, 2010 at 12:45 amI love Bossy’s Mom (even though I’ve never met her) and hope she and Bossy can come visit here sometime. As in this summer. Or tomorrow. Or maybe even yesterday.
p.s. If Kevin Bacon happens to be hitchhiking on I’95 South as you’re passing by, by all means pick him up.

January 30, 2010 at 6:46 amOh yes, that’s a fabulous room, so inviting. I love the Ikea Vaerde furniture, my kitchen is just too small for it.
And I really adore that waist-high wooden stuff (don’t even know what it might be called) “you Americans” like to have on your walls, that’s so cosy.

January 30, 2010 at 1:37 pmAs much as Ikea can cause a lot of grumping and groaning, (who can read these Swedish directions?) They offer such delightful pieces! I did my whole kitchen with Ikea. It’s over on my blog right now.

January 30, 2010 at 10:15 pmDo you think she will let me come and live in her kitchen? I love it THAT much.
Oh and I can totally make homemade pasta.

January 30, 2010 at 10:20 pmThis is really really odd, because bossy’s mom’s kitchen is MY kitchen. Or, really, it WILL be when I get my floor done. And bossy’s mom gave me a brilliant idea. I want my fridge to be a COLOR , like a retro one, totally. But I can’t afford this totally retro fridge because GAH, indeed.

And then bossy’s mom said “Appliance paint” and then my mind went crazy and I’m thinking “WHY didn’t I think of that sooner!?”
I love bossy.
