Bossy loves this arch made out of milk crates, which is in front of one of the University of the Arts buildings on Broad Street in Philadelphia. Gah, the milk crate. Who didn’t once have milk crate bookshelves and other dorm-like things?
Um, do we get double credit if we STILL use milk crates for storage? They’re great for containing the detritus that comes from living with a 3-year-old. Also, CD’s.
little known facts about me: I love when you blog things I’ve blogged because it makes me feel like we are even that much more connected by not just blogging but by LIFE: http://www.theurbanity.com/2010/01/broad-and-pine.html
This makes me wonder if our ‘broke’ early married furniture made from planks/bricks/milk cartons really WERE the best years of our life? Upgrading to Pottery Barn isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, because let’s face it, PB is NOT gonna show up in a great work of art in front of the university of arts on ANY campus.
I still have milk crates! You can buy them at The Container Store, also known as Nirvana. My kids use them for corralling books and binders and notebooks for homeschooling. When I say, “Get your crates,” they know it’s ON.
