For reasons too boring to go into here — and granted Bossy thinks Barack O’Boyfriend’s Nuclear Summit is boring because that is how tired Bossy is — Bossy had to book this hotel room last night in Atlanta.
Some of it had to do with her eight hour drive from Richmond to Atlanta on three hours sleep — and see how Bossy is telling you anyway even though it’s too boring?
A few of the reasons Bossy only had three hours sleep was this:
You are looking at Bossy’s (No) Book Tour Richmond meet-up, and it was very fun, with the following bloggers in attendance: Amber, Bossy’s Lauren, Chesapeake Bay Woman, DemMom, and the irrepressible Kelly, who travels with his own posse of gays and thank gah for them. Hi Laird and Joe and Jeff!
And these two were mother and daughter!
So that was super fun, and then Bossy heard weather reports that included words like tornado and hail, and so Bossy fell into a deep restful sleep… for six minutes, and the rest of the night she fretted, where night only lasts until 4 a.m. anyway before that’s the gahless hour Bossy has to awake and tackle that day’s drive.
And speaking of that day’s drive through Virginia and Georgia, it was all:
Then Bossy checked into her zen hotel room with its sweeping views of Atlanta:
And Bossy took a little nap, which may or may not have included drool, and then Bossy was off to hang out with her Atlanta council, which included the following bloggers, with a special shout-out to Alison and Zach: Jules, Wimbittworld, Crazy Mom Tats, Dylan, Father Muskrat and his lovely wife Deb, and the always entertaining Amber Lee, who once again drove to Atlanta from Tennessee with her driving husband:
Plus it was really cool because Bossy’s waitress was Sissy Spacek, who performed parlor tricks such as juggling twelve separate checks:
And then Bossy and her Atlanta (No) Book Tour council went outside to visit with Bossy’s Harrison Ford (Fusion) and pose for a photo shoot, emphasis on shoot:
And then Bossy retired to her hotel room, where Bossy put the tired in retired.
Today Bossy is back in her car toward Nashville for more fun, including a live taping of Prairie Home Companion. And speaking of driving, have you seen this?
woohoo! I remembered to click “keep reading post” before I started reading! Hope you are having a great trip! Are you sure you don’t want to stop in NM between TX and AZ?? =)
Hi, Bossy.
Is it me or are all of the members of Bossy’s council beautiful?
P.S. Safe travel Bossy.
Thanks for coming to the A, Bossy! I am so glad I got to meet you!
BAH! I missed you in DC because… I was in Atlanta! Now that you are here, I’m heading back to DC! Evil, evil universe keeping me from internet meetups.
Super fun! Great company, great meatloaf sandwich. If I were slightly less huge, I might’ve done a jig or some crap like that. Happy travels, and enjoy Nashville–Jack’s is totally the only worthwhile BBQ, FYI.
Looks like a good time was had by all, including Harrison Ford!
you always sneek out in the middle of night… Jeff and I enjoyed having you again in Richmond and hope you have a safe and fun trip… and if we win the lottery this weekend, we will not only sponsor you for your trip, but we will buy a big old caddy convertible and do it Thelma and Louise stye…minus the cliff… but if Brad happens to be there..well… smooches!! have fun, we had fun while you were here…
Bossy’s Official Road Trip Husband Tally:
1. DC Cameraman
2. Harrison Ford Fusion
3. Holiday Inn Express
Thanks, Bossy, for a great night. Remember to bring your mom (Hi, Bossy’s Mom!) down to Virginia when you want to get away for a long weekend. How does July 15-18 sound?
YAY, you’ve gotten to meet Chesapeake Bay Woman TWICE! Looks like you’re definitely on the Party Bus. Drive safely.
Oh….this is the first chance I’ve had to get on the computer today to look at something interesting. My hubby has been looking at cars and junk like that.
I love those Holiday Inn Express hotels, too. They are so nice compared to some we have
enduredstayed in. It looks like there were a LOT of people meeting up with you. Some were sort of frantic yesterday not knowing where you would be. They found you and all was good.I’m going to listen to A Prairie Home Companion tonight to see if you will be on there. We went over to Arlington to hear Garrison Keillor when he was here last fall. He is a nice man….but watch him…you are tired and all.
The excitement is growing here in the DFW area. It will be fun if we can find the church and all.
Drive safely.
Oh yea….when you were standing out by Harrison, at first I thought you had on heels and was thinking…oh Gah…upgrade in shoe area, but farther down I could see your shoes were flats. So, then I was wondering if maybe you were desperate to get to the ladies room or something. I’m just saying…ya know….it did look like that.
Did all your posse fit into Harrison and accompany you home?
When did they start letting such very young people marry?! Oy. I may be getting old.
hi honey. how was Garrison…love him….
Hey – it was great to meet you last night at Manuel’s in Hotlanta! I had a terrific time and enjoyed getting to know some of the rest of your posse.
Just remember who can out-bossy Bossy!
Dear Bossy, If this is YOUR (No) Book Tour, why not plan some SLEEP TIME! Inquiring minds want to know!
Wow. Google maps for public transportation! How cool is that? I could have used that doing the college visit thing last month last month
Hope you get some sleep this weekend, take care, p.j.
Oh, I hope there is a next time!!!! This is such a great idea….maybe next year there will be a book!!
xoxoxox
oooh. That is one purty Holiday Express room. Can I come to your wedding when you marry it?
I have a blog, I have a blog! Linky stinky!
I’m surprised by how nice that Holiday Inn Express looks. I wrongly assumed they would be bare bones, but that looks pretty comfy.
Glad your road trip is off to such a great start! Can’t wait to see you in Detroit!
I listened to all of Garrison Keillor hoping to hear you, but it didn’t happen. You did say you were going to tape something with him. The show was very funny last night. Hope you had a wonderful time wherever you were.
Muskrat left a comment from his phone, but it never showed up. Luckily for Muskrat, he has a MacBook that performs beautifully at leaving comments.
Glad Bossy fought her fatigue to hang at one of my favorite bars in the ATL, a place full of memories, and now full of more memories, but this time, they feature blogger friends.
Oh, and when you’re not putting the “tired” in “retired,” perhaps you could fix the hyperlink to my blog. Unless that was Bossy using artistic license.
I loved getting to meet you Bossy!
I blogged about it on my Wimbittworld!

I like the photo where you’re making large gestures emphasizing the car: good job pimping Harrison which I know is one of your No-Book jobs on the road.
How, oh how, can you stand up to all this driving and drinking and partying? Not drinking-and-driving, but still, all that hubbub is hard on a girl!
Dear Chesapeake Bay Woman,
Thank you for the running tally on Bossy-spouses on the tour. good job.
Thanks Bossy!
Oh look! THERE’S all the Atlanta bloggers.
Many thanks for giving me new Reader fodder.
