What in the holy hell, Pennsylvania?! I turn my back for ONE midterm election and THIS is what you do? THIS?! Even Massachusetts fared better than you this year, which is hopeful considering that whole Scott Brown boo-boo we pulled earlier this year. JEEZ.
could have been worse. No Linda McMahon for us at least.
No Sharon Angle. Sorry for Sestak and his little girl who told him he’ll be cleaning the den this week.
No worse than 94, but then didn’t that bring the Newt?
Is that a scream or a yawn? Hard to tell with the sound turned off.
I’m giving the Republicans the same timeline they gave Obama: they now have one year to restore the economy and full employment. Oh, hell – take until February of 2012, y’all.
Unhappy people do the only thing they feel they can- do cast a vote for change. Is anybody really surprised about this? I’m not saying I agree with the results, I just thought it was inevitable.
Here in The Sunshine State we’re still waiting to see if the guy who pulled off a Medicare fraud and also refuses to speak to the press will be our next Governor.
The political climate in Florida smells like a kitty litter box.
I live in “Red Dead Indiana” (video game reference nod to my husband there) and I feel Baby David’s pain, boy do I.
But, I’m going to borrow from Jon Stewart’s rally (“I disagree with you, but I don’t think you’re Hitler.” and commenter number 6 above. They have one year to restore economy and employment. They better get on it. I keep thinking the Dems should just give up trying to do anything productive for the next two years, and instead spend their time working on their messaging for 2012. And put on the dang gloves, ’cause it ain’t gonna be pretty.
You actually got unstray baby David a “Baby David” name tag? That’s HIGH-larious. I think it will be the only chuckle I have today. @LMSSS, I believe the political climate of the entire COUNTRY smells like a litter box! @6 & @12, you are correct about the what, but are people really so stupid that they believe this is the way to make change happen? We call that “magical thinking” a.k.a. WTF?
Out here in California the gubernatorial* race was between between wacky and disingenuous (if you’re nice — crazy and phony if you’re not). I’ll pick wacky every time. Whatever. More of the same.
Fear not good people. The Republicans and Teabaggers will have unemployment at record lows and the stock market at record highs in no time. That is what they are telling us right? I agree with Jami, one year, eighteen months tops to get it right. And since past performance is the best predictor of future performance, please pay no attention to the fact that ten years ago, they took a thriving economy and turned it into a shit pile. Also, pay no attention to the two wars that rage on.
Sadly, what I think they will do in the next two years is dismantle social security and medicare.
Hated much of the election results, but GO California and here in Houston we did all agree to spend some money on our pitiful streets, which is good. Outside of that, the happiest thing I’m seeing right now is that Baby David tag!
repubs need to grow brains. demos need to grow spines. i think its ok to use facts to beat on repubs, Obama doesnt agree and we lose 60 seats. They are very hard to fetch back. Oh Darn.
Hoped for a Dem pickup in KY with retirement of Bunning, got Rand Paul instead. We kept our two Democratic Congressional seats with Yarmuth and Chandler(six hundred vote edge for Chandler).
What bugs me is the waste of resources. If only half the money spent on election went to helping communities…. Sad.
OK, we got Jerry back, Boxer’s still in the Senate and the GIANTS won the series. Sanity restored in California. I’m good, but the rest of you out there in the hinterlands – good luck. Like Bette said “Hold on, it’s going to be a bumpy ride”
While I will refrain from voicing my political views here I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE with KathyB on the waste of money/resources.
I am just happy I won’t have to see any godawful campaign tv ads for a while.
I agree with jp above – START YOUR FAMOUS CLEANING UP – BY CLEANING UP!! I think there should be fines for signs that are up more than 2 days after the election. For both sides.
Although I agree with Baby David, I would like to purchase him some catnip for the scream/yawn/hairball.
My husband and I are in mourning down here in Florida. He is a public high school teacher and worries for the state of public ed. I just can’t believe this state voted in a criminal

Wisconsin went from sort of a purplish color to all red.
I figure that if people think they were miserable under the previous administration, wait to see how miserable now. Then maybe they’ll change their tune. In my dreamland. Where there are flying unicorns.
