Bossy wants to tell you all about the three days she spent in Atlanta this week, which she will now do at great peril because Bossy broke her shoulder.
It all began when Coke asked Bossy if she’d like to participate in a conference at their headquarters, which makes all kinds of sense since Bossy hates soda.
In fact, when Bossy was asked by Coca Cola what her favorite beverage is, Bossy didn’t hesitate to tell them the truth.
But the next thing Bossy knew, her plane was landing on the Georgia tarmac and Bossy was falling into the arms of a striking chauffeur holding up a sign with Bossy’s name on it!
And then Bossy met the other blogging women she would spend the next 4,320 minutes getting to know:
Basically Bossy and the other women were in Atlanta to exchange ideas with Coca Cola regarding their latest community-based Live Positively initiative, which is another way of saying Sister Mercy they all did the Soul Train dance line.
It turns out Coca Cola’s philanthropy reach is as broad as their inventory of beverages which are not soda. Bossy learned that Coke readily partners with the likes of the World Wildlife Fund and the Rails To Trails campaign — and they have their hands in everything from clean water concerns to scholarships and women in the workplace initiatives.
But that’s not what Bossy wants to talk about. She wants to tell you about the celebrities that work at the Coke headquarters. Like Cameron Diaz:
And Padma Lakshmi:
And Justine Bateman:
Coca Cola doesn’t so much have employees as an enormous extended family of bright inspired people. But before you could say Wow those Coke people know good food in and around Atlanta, it was time for Bossy to fly home. Lucky thing Bossy sat next to Darrell Hammond:
And was across the aisle from Larry David!
Oh, Atlanta and Coca-Cola and those hilarious nineteen fellow bloggers, Bossy will miss you more than you know.

I don’t think that was Justine Bateman. I think it was Julianna Margulies.

Would you like soda more if it had some rum in it?

November 11, 2010 at 12:38 pmBossy…now you have a great thing to post in Facebook! It is very nice to hear that the Coke folks are finding ways to give back to the community. Those initiatives will make a huge difference in the lives of needy individuals. Good on them. And good on you (and those other lovely ladies) for participating.

November 11, 2010 at 1:10 pmThat was a rather sexist meeting – where are the Daddy bloggers? Why do girls get to have all the fun?

November 11, 2010 at 1:23 pmYou really should stay away from peelers. They do not like you. Is your peeler named Christine? So what all was accomplished at this conference? Did you start to like Coke? I don’t drink it much; but, I love it! You look very pretty in the pictures.Esp. since you didn’t have to hold your arm out as far as possible. That’s got to be tiresome after awhile!

And … is that you in the last group shot, rockin your boots?

November 11, 2010 at 2:31 pmGreat post, and so sorry about the peeler disaster. This is why I do not own a mandolin, makes me scared to think about it. I have had grater episodes in the past, but not on Bossy injury scale. Jiminy Cricket!
All I have seen of Atlanta is the airport, unfortunately.

November 11, 2010 at 3:09 pmLove how Bossy strategically positioned a beautiful boot in both those shots.
V. sorry about the finger. I did that once when I was a teenager and fainted dead away smack in the middle of the then-bloody salad. Looks like you are following excellent wound-care protocols. Here’s to speedy healing!

November 11, 2010 at 6:04 pmGotta say, Coke is the superior soda, but Pepsi is the superior philanthropist; this Coke thing must be in response to the Refresh Project…

November 11, 2010 at 10:43 pmSo how many times did someone say “Welcome to Georgia, Georgia?” Now imagine living your entire 15 years in Georgia named Georgia. What was I thinking when I did that innocent little baby?
