Today marks two weeks Bossy’s been on the road
Driving thousands of miles, as you have been told
And she’s written about parties and bloggers and bars
But the one thing neglected is a poem about her cars.
She is sponsored by Saturn, as you probably know
A new car each week, super new and aglow
They smell like a showroom, all clean and pristine
And here is the kicker: the cars are all green.
Bossy first drove the Vue, which is a small S-U-V
The color was divine, like the Aegean Sea
Its back seat was ample for Bossy’s truck stop napping
And it handled quite smooth—great for her photo snapping.
The next car she drove was a Saturn Outlook
It was higher and bigger, lots of lane room it took
The color was grey, sometimes bluish or green
It had three rows of seats—enough to fit a whole team.
Both the Vue and the Outlook have a really cute ass
Though the Vue is a hybrid and better on gas
The Outlook’s front headlamps reminded Bossy of the Citroen
(Bossy’s childhood car over a two-decade span.)
Now Bossy is driving the convertible Sky
She never drove with the top down, so she thought she would try
At first she felt vulnerable: her head out in the air
But she’s grown used to the feeling (and has learned some new prayers.)
So thank you to Saturn, so far it’s all good
If you have not considered a Saturn, you certainly should
Without GM’s Onstar Bossy doubts if she could
have traveled alone across hills, dales, and ‘hoods.
Seriously, how good was the hybrid gas mileage? I will buy a hybrid with stellar, not just good, mileage potential.
The latest car is BEYOND cute! I do believe I’m in lub. Are convertibles not THE most fun vehicles on the planet?!
Bossy is good w/poems. =)
Living vicariously through you,
S t e p h e r
“Citroen” rhymes with “span”? Have I been mispronouncing it all this time???
The shame. The horrible horrible shame.
what is a dale?
There arent any dales in Laguna Beach, that I know of, but we have an ocean.
Im imagining that Bossy is driving up the coast, as we speak, flirting with the man in the car in the next lane, tossing her golden curls, but really thinking of her hubby at home.
Hurry Bossy, you are almost here….see you tonight!
It must be fun driving new cars. DG would like it, anyways. Just when the new car smell starts to wear off and the steering wheel gets sticky…BAM! NEW CAR!
I love a car with nice headlamps!
very hot cars for a very hot blogger
Hope that did’t sound lesbian!
The Seuss inspiration was clearly fueled your stay in San Diego.
My Saturn Aura is really a treat.
It’s an ’07 model that just can’t be beat.
Except by a Viper – perhaps a Ferrari
But ’til I score one of those,
I’ll drive my Aurrari.
Love the poem. I loved my Saturn when I had one.
Happy travels!
Aw, I’m all choked up. Glad to hear that the wheels have been treating you well. Safe travels!
Seussian marketing. Dang, that’s good.
You’re a beautiful spirit. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Jen – It did.
You know, I believe I’m not so swayed by marketing, but I used Huggies diapers the times I didn’t use cloth because that’s the kind Hi McDunnough (Nicolas Cage) stole in Raising Arizona. And now I want a Saturn.
And a lesbian.
To cute! I like the second Saturn the best personally! Which was your favorite?
biddy is still hoping to one day get an outlook… *sigh*
and i still can’t get over the “1970’s drumset blue”
Speaking of Sky (were we?) Bossy’s husband delivered my MAJOR AWARD today, and I got to meet STELLA! Ten kinds of HAWESOME!!!!11!!! Eleventy!
I’m a fan.
Fan I am.
I do so like Bossy’s blog
Hot damn.
And I will read it
Instead of work.
And I will read it
Instead of cook.
And I will read it
Instead of clean.
And I will read it AS MUCH AS I DAMN WELL PLEASE. EVEN IF AS MUCH AS I DAMN WELL PLEASE = ALL DAY LONG AT THE COMPUTER DOING NOTHING PRODUCTIVE.
I’m a fan.
Fan I am.
BOSSY, tomorrow you’re in LA, which is all kinds of good.
But, BOSSY, I beseech you! Stay out of the HOOD!!!
Bossy’ convertible was kissing another Saturn last night at katydidnot’s house–it was too cute.
I can not compete with the hilarity of the comments today. I’m in wisdom tooth pain.
But I WANT that Saturn. I’m too lazy to remember which one. I”ve heard nothing but good about Saturn as a car and as a company. So that is why I’m driving a Suburu. Actually, it’s all good about Suburu too. Except it’s not a hybrid. But my next car might be a Saturn. And I think bossy can feel good about that.
Will you see John in LA?
Great poem, Bossy. You made me smile.
See you soon. (With WiFi! Wooot!)
Wait. No cute men today?
I so love GM and Saturn. How do you like the Sky?
I went to the Saturn dealer in Totowa, NJ today to look at the Sky.
This has been great, but I am looking forward to photos of your hound back at home and your kitchen. And the, “Bossy’s hair after her first night back in her own bed” morning shot.
The peom touched my heart. No, wait – that was something else. Never mind. Nice cars though!
*clap, clap, clap*
Chesapeake Bay Woman and I are on the same page, except I was going to say
And I would buy one with a goat
And I would buy one for my boat
Or something like that; I haven’t worked it all out. Welcome to California, Miss Bossy! The cool vibe just went way up in this state.
Geez, what a suck-up.
what a nice ode.
when the picture taker’s reflection can be seen in the photograph, the picture taker is supposed to be nekkid, ala ebay!
three rows of seats ANd hybrid? that could seriously park in my garage.
I love Saturns! And I love them even more because they’re sponsoring Bossy. Safest care EVER — we hit ice at 50 mph and totaled one when I was 6 months pregnant and didn’t even have to go to the doctor — I was totally unhurt. Saturn ROCKS. We bought another one as soon as the insurance came in.
I want the Outlook! But I want it to be hybrid. Oh, and one of those cute convertibles too. Wistful sigh.
So is Saturn filming a commercial about you? Because they totally should.
I like green eggs and car.
I’ve got an Ion…and I love it! I traded in a big ol’ mini van for it! And I LOVE IT! The best part? Besides the fact that it is a 5 speed and makes me feel like a badass? Is that my kids can use the side of it as brakes on their bikes…and there is NO DAMAGE! Seriously. I can’t tell you how many times a kid has ridden his bike into my car? Not even a scratch. I want the Outlook next.
OOOH! When I bought the ion? They totally let you drive it out of the showroom! Which I don’t recommend doing if you have 2 kids in the car and you are rusty on your 5 speed driving skills. The salesmen were so nice, they averted their eyes as I bucked and shook on the way out…kids screaming in the backseat. Whatever. It was cool!
Maybe I missed it somewhere, but you are sponsored by Saturn?????
What is this and where do I sign up for the Porsche version? (of course they all must be Silver….personal preference).
Speaking as a former poetry major, Bossy, you done good.
Love the poem, but love the convertible even more! Although I suppose I ought to consider the hybrid…didn’t know Saturn made those…
Citroen ryhmes with alone. As is Bossy’s on her trip alone, on her own, thinking about her childhood car the Citroen! I love the Cirtoen and that one pictured is sweet
Oh Bossy, you just made the “cool factor” of the Saturn go way up.
Bossy, thanks! I am in the market for a new car. I will seriously consider the Saturn options, now that someone I “know” has given them a Road Trip Recommendation. Hmmm…better on gas…I like the sound of that!
From There to Here and Here to There,
Funny Things are Everywhere!
And Bossy’s the funniest!
Bossy + John Cusack = Saturn’s new spokescouple.
They should so give you a free car for that.
::going to test drive a Saturn::
So weird that my family had a Citroen
when I was growing up. It was maroon, but looked purple in the sun.
SATURN LISTEN UP: I am considering buying one of your hybrids because of the lovely Bossy’s endorsements. Now give her a bonus – we will buy in July.
