This past weekend Bossy was at a high school graduation party with her head in the sangria bowl when suddenly she spied these:
Can we just all agree they win for cutest shoes?
When Bossy inquired about them, her friend was generous enough to provide Bossy with detailed information, including which catalogue features them and how much they cost, but Bossy couldn’t hear her friend over the din of her own brain spinning the possible justifications for purchasing yet another pair of shoes.
Once home Bossy thought, how hard could it be to locate a pair of red polka dot espadrilles? Bossy began her search by googling a phrase — as luck would have it: red polka dot espadrilles. The first shoe to reveal was this one:
Close, minus a few hundred polka dots and a handful of cute. So Bossy kept looking:
While it’s plain to see they are red and feature the signature jute rope sole of an espadrille, they are clearly not what Bossy was searching for. So she continues:
Cute, although not classically red. The search moves forward:
And finally, Bossy’s favorite search result for red polka dot espadrilles:
Just as well, really, considering Bossy’s poverty. Although an unrequited relationship with a shoe makes Bossy feel a little like Cinderella, except in Bossy’s fairytale there is no prince. Only lots and lots of cleaning.

I will be Snow White to your Cinderella as I scrub the steps of the castle – without cute shoes. Because they don’t make cute shoes in my size.

It took me half an hour to weed through the NOT-at-ALL what I wanted to find what I was searching for. At least yours are all………..shoes. Good luck!
